IT’S OUT, IT’S OUT!! 🌿✨🌱

My second studio album ‘Creeping Thyme’ is now OUT in the world EVERYWHERE!! *squeals*

I’ve woken up in my campervan and already listened all the way through twice. I’m so so proud of this album and cannot wait for you all to hear it.

Please listen from top to bottom, save it to playlists, add it to your listening library, share it around and ENJOY 🌿

Any digital or physical bandcamp orders between now and Thursday also go towards the charts so please pop over and buy your copy alongside streaming 🙏

THANK YOU to all the incredible musicians, artists, designers, friends, family and fans who have made this album possible. It’s no small thing putting a studio album together and I could not have done this without you!! An extra special mention to Graham for his INCREDIBLE behind the scenes work 🙏

Is anyone else feeling that cosiness of nights drawing in? It can be a hard time too, with coldness and fading light. It’s a time to look after yourself, to semi-hibernate, to celebrate the changing landscape of nature and your own habitat. To make sure you get out for a little bit to truly recognise the beauty of wildness, enabling you to truly recognise the sanctity of home 🔥

Thanks to @lucyalicesaurus and Dean for your clever wedding card with matches on it. As promised, it was used to light our first fire of the autumn ❤️‍🔥 We were skipping around with excitement at the warmth, and the delightful smell that we’d almost forgotten.

Narrowboat life at the moment is full of DIY and very hard work, so it’s beautiful to have a little escape. And even though the work is hard, we are grateful for everything we have after the summer of DIY in 2024 where we were sleeping in the car and rebuilding the boat from the inside after a water tank leak led to more and more problems. Now we have our little cose-fest inside full of colours and loveliness 🤩

Song is Feels Like Home, by us! @midnightfyremusic 🎶 Give us a listen on your streaming place if you fancy it 🌙🔥

Every two to three years, you have to bring your boat out for blacking as the paint starts to become ineffective, and you need to sort out the scratches and whatnot that have accumulated. This is quite a fun (albeit expensive) time, and theoretically quite simple.

However, nothing is ever straightforward with narrowboats, and we’re currently on week 3 despite wanting to be in the water after two weeks. We’re finally getting somewhere now though and are at the stage of painting, which is the most satisfying bit!

Today’s task is contorting ourselves into the engine day to derust, paint and repack the stern gland. We also have our friend Hefty @the_anvil_workshop here putting his many skills to use to build us a cratch cover at the front. All very exciting stuff!

Oops! I became one of those people who has to choose 20 photos from a whole month to post a few months later 🙈 Anyway, this is all the non-work stuff from the crazy month of June when we jumped from rehearsals to big events every week 🫣🤪

Two gigs this weekend! It’s been a while - we’ve been locked in theatre land for most of the summer. What a treat to have a big old fun time coming up @brumbrewery on Friday with our Brum/Midlands community. We’d love for you to join us!

On Sunday we’re playing a favourite place of ours, @theropemakers in Bridport, transporting you to the dreamscape of another world, warming your cockles on the Midnight Fyre as autumn approaches 😝🔥🌙

We’ll have our CDs and T Shirts with us if you fancy! These are the last two gigs we have booked for this year amongst our other performance work, and we are going away travelling for the first half of next year, so this may be the last chance to see us for a while! Hopefully see you there 😍

Lots of love

A beautiful day out of boating from Hopwood House to Bournville. Complete with lots of algae due to all the hot weather! The Kings Norton tunnel is very atmospheric 🤩

It is the LAST DAY to donate to a fundraiser for the @lyrictheatrebridport to ensure they don’t have to close for the winter. They are in desperate need of a new roof and are so close to the target, but really need the support to push them over the line. 🔗 Link in bio and comments. 🔗

@nikikmcc has transformed The Lyric into a beautiful space of creativity, support and collaboration in a time where we so desperately need it. We have seen INCREDIBLE pieces of music and theatre there, it is home to @stuffandnonsensetheatre which @fearofthedonkey tours with regularly. They create insanely good family shows with real integrity, the best of the best! We were also massively supported by Niki and The Lyric to record some Lyric Sessions, which we’re hoping to release in the next couple of years. The acoustics and setting are just so so special, and the personality of the space just adds to any creative project.

It has been home to projects involving Billy Bragg, and @pjharveyofficial recently rehearsed her world tour there. The fundraiser has been publicly endorsed and supported by @olivia_colman_official , and it desperately needs that last push of £8500 to push it over the line today.

If you have any money to spare, every £5 and share will help this amazing cause. PLEASE SUPPORT GRASSROOTS THEATRE, MUSIC AND COMMUNITY 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩

Lots of love
