Across his current Australian tour, Bob Evans is teaming up with @feat.artists to direct $1 from every ticket sold to a First Nations-led island restoration project on Lungtalanana, owned and led by the Palawa community of Lutruwita / Tasmania.

Joining a growing movement of artists using their platforms to protect the places, plants and animals we love.

But nature needs more support. The Australian Government currently invests just 0.06% of its federal budget in nature. Thats just 6c for every $100. We’re calling for that to increase to at least 1%.

Together with a growing collective of international artists and festivals, Laneway proudly supports Lungtalanana in lutruwita / Tasmania, a cultural restoration project owned and led by its original custodians, the Palawa community. 🖤💛❤️

Festivals can have a significant impact on the natural world, and the music industry has a part to play in protecting the wild places we love.

Laneway is the first foundational partner of this project.

The project is led by the @pakanarangers, who are restoring Country and cultural connections through youth ranger programs, cultural fire management and the return of significant native species, including the Bass Strait wombat and long-nosed potoroo.

If you’re interested in supporting too, add your name to the petition via the link in @30by30au’s bio to help push for better outcomes for nature. 🙌❤️

Today is International World Wombat Day!!

To help celebrate our namesake, the wombat, we are so grateful to be teaming up with @feat.artists to support a project bringing wombats back to an island off the coast of Lutruwita / Tasmania in Australia

The island, returned to Aboriginal ownership in 2005 and used to be home to wombats, but due to colonial sheep-farming and overgrazing, they have been locally extinct since 1912. But now, alongside a bunch of other artists, we’re backing this Aboriginal-led project to restore their habitat and bring them home

This important work is being led by @pakanarangers and @taclutruwita who are reviving the whole island landscape and reconnecting with Country and culture

Getting to be part of something that’s helping to bring back wombats, is honestly one of the coolest things we get to be a part of

Help us get more support for amazing projects like this by signing the petition calling on the Australian Government to invest at least 1% of their government budget into nature restoration 💙

Today is World Wombat Day! And backing the return of wombats to Lungtalanana is about saving what we can for the next generation. I’m pleased to support the restoration of Lungtalanana by the Palawa people and encourage everyone else to lend a hand if they’re able.
The Government has promised to protect 30% of land and sea by 2030 and prevent new extinctions. This kind of funding will make more restorations possible.

Just 0.06% of Australian tax dollars are spent on nature (!!!). With our wildlife and their habitats under growing threat, we need to do better.

Add your name to this petition calling for 1% to be invested in nature in the next Federal Budget. It will be delivered to your Federal MP, Senators and key ministers. Sign here (link in bio): https://30by30.org.au/act-now-for-nature-funding

The 20th anniversary tour kicks off tomorrow and I’m super excited to be teaming up with FEAT.Live and their Solar Slice program.

$1 from every ticket sold on the Suburban Songbook tour will be going to support the Lungtalanana Island Restoration project, an awesome First Nations-led initiative where Pakana Rangers are working to restore an entire island landscape & return wombats and long-nosed potoroos to their natural habitat.

This project is part of a broader movement the team at FEAT are leading to make a tangible impact to address nature and biodiversity loss in Australia. I’d encourage you to check them out.

Hopefully see you at one of the shows and how cool is it knowing that by being there we are all supporting a really significant environmental program at the same time?

RIP to an iconic nature lover ❤️

Dolly wasn’t just an iconic singer song writer. She was also an environmental conservationist who used to her platform to advocate for nature protection and climate action.

Dolly cared deeply for the national park which she called home - the Smoky Mountains or the Smokies.

The Great Smoky Mountains were more than home to Dolly Parton, they were part of her story. The mountains shaped the songs she wrote, the stories she told, and the way she saw the world. And throughout her life, Dolly never stopped sharing her love for these places, inviting generations of people to discover their beauty and find a little bit of that mountain spirit for themselves.

RIP to the iconic Dolly Parton. ❤️

South Australia leads on #climate action, especially when it comes to renewable energy and recycling. For decades we have been home to some of the nation’s best #festivals.

Join me and a brilliant group of creative leaders at @honeydripper.hifi at 4pm tomorrow as we explore the relationship between climate, festivals and behaviour change at this @adl.climate.action.week event for @festivalcityadl.

I’ll be chatting with Hugh Scobie from @womadelaide, Vicki-Jo (VJ) Russell AM from @naturefestivalsa, Beatrice Jeavons from @feat.artists and Alexandra Buzila from @illuminateadelaide (thanks to them and @createwithfrankie for the pic).

A few tickets remain if you’re quick (includes an @ozharvestshop mocktail or cocktail). Just head to ACAW website.
