FEATHRUARY ~ last day

WEEK 4: Decade Colorway ~ ‘20s 💛 🩶

I chose colors from the roaring ‘20s for my Great “Gatsby” Horned Owl 🦉 in flight “the tigers of the sky”. They live in N & S America, feeding on a wide variety of prey (small rodents & even skunks). Their flight is silent & they turn their heads 270 degrees.

It was a harsh month full of wildness for me and my family that included illnesses, a cancer diagnosis for my dog and a blizzard. This online community art event was a great outlet and I’m thankful I had the opportunity to participate, even if I couldn’t do so everyday! Thank you to the hosts and all your hard work and efforts!

Valeu, Feathruary 2026. Até o ano que vem.

Another FEATHRUARY challenge has come to an end, now in its 2026 edition. There were 28 bird drawings selected by the organizers, @mischievousredfox and @projectparlor.
I took part with thick-lead pencil sketches, without much finishing and always done in less than five minutes each. Now, however, I present the ink versions in 0.03 fineliner, with all the drawings gathered into a single image.
Follow the organizers and also @feathruary, and you will see truly delightful works of art.
Even due to my lack of more elaborate artistic skills, my goal is not the art itself, but rather the promotion of biodiversity and love for animals. So, if you can, go to your window and watch the birds. Maybe even draw one of them, or write a poem about it—perhaps a short story, a cordel, a haiku… You will feel good. Nature is beautiful and is here to be shared, contemplated, defended, and preserved.
Thank you, Feathruary 2026. See you next year.

For my final week with #feathruary2026 I thought I would pay tribute to some of the amazing Wildlife photographers on Instagram. Many puffins have been coming through my feed, and this one just really made me smile. For more beautiful photos check out @nationaltrustforscotland
