Thank you to BIPOC OC for organizing this phenomenal Juneteenth Freedom Festival. The significance and history of Juneteenth has allowed me to reflect on our country and community's history.

As Irvine's first Asian American mayor, I know how important diversity is and why representation matters within our local community. We have come far, but we have far to go. In Irvine, I am committed to stand up to any efforts to audit or defund our DEI efforts, and ensure Irvine is a place for our Black neighbors, businesses, and organizations to not only be welcomed, but really thrive.

Thank you to everyone who made it out today, and please do not hesitate to reach out anytime!

For 15 years, the Arab American Civic Council has been building power in Little Arabia and beyond — and we are just getting started. 🤍✊🏽

We have spent 15 years organizing our community, mobilizing voters, holding elected officials accountable, and fighting to make sure Arab Americans are seen, counted, and heard. This is our story.
In this video, you’ll hear directly from our community members about:

✊🏽 15 years of Arab American civic organizing in Southern California
✊🏽 Our fight to include Arab Americans in state data collection
✊🏽 Mobilizing 100,000 Arab Americans to the polls
✊🏽 Building youth leadership and political power in Little Arabia, Anaheim
✊🏽 Holding elected representatives accountable to our community
✊🏽 Building solidarity across communities in the fight for justice

Arab Americans are a growing political force — and organizations like ours exist to make sure that power is organized, directed, and impossible to ignore.

But we can’t do this without you. We recently celebrated this milestone at our 15 year anniversary gala. Let’s keep the momentum going.

Happy Pride Month, Irvine! 🏳️‍🌈

As a lifelong ally to the LGBTQ+ Community, I was honored to stand with the community on Harvey Milk Day (May 22) to raise the Pride Flag at Irvine City Hall for Pride Month. In an increasingly divided world, Pride Month serves as an important reminder for everyone to live by compassion and love in our community.

When serving in the federal government, I also had the honor of raising the Pride Flag at our Regional Headquarters in San Francisco. It was a joy to look back at some of those memories!

I look forward to remaining an ally and champion for our LGBTQ+ community on Irvine's City Council and ensuring that especially LGBTQ+ families and youth have access to the security and freedoms that all Irvine residents deserve.

Last night’s fundraiser for the Letitia Clark for Mayor campaign was a powerful reminder of what makes Tustin so special — partnership, community, and people who truly care about the future of our city.

Thank you to Congressman Dave Min @davemin_ca for hosting such a meaningful evening, and thank you to the many community members, friends, neighbors, and supporters who came together in support of a vision for a stronger, more connected Tustin.

Throughout the evening, the focus remained clear: ensuring Tustin continues to be a tight-knit community that uplifts the voices of its residents, values collaboration, and creates opportunities for everyone to thrive.

I am incredibly grateful for every conversation, every word of encouragement, and every person who continues to believe in this campaign and the future we can build together.

But the work is not done. There is still much more to accomplish, and together we will continue listening, engaging, and working hard for the people of Tustin every step of the way.

Thank you for your support — let’s keep moving forward together.

IUCC was thrilled to have a table at the @lgbtqcenteroc's Youth Convening yesterday!

God’s love knows no boundaries. We believe that sexuality and identity are sacred gifts from our Creator, and that loving, responsible relationships are expressions of God’s grace in the world. In a culture where many still assume Christianity rejects LGBTQ+ people, our church is committed to sharing a different message—one rooted in the radical welcome of Jesus.

As an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ, we proclaim a simple but powerful truth: God’s love includes you exactly as you know yourself to be. All are welcomed, all are celebrated, and all are invited to grow in faith together, serving the world to be a more compassionate place.

As progressive Christians, we at IUCC stand with the marginalized and work for a world shaped by compassion, dignity, and hope—which is why we were at the No Kings rally! We’re proud to be a church that boldly stands for LGBTQ justice, immigrant justice, climate justice, economic justice, just peace, and so much more. It’s what Jesus would do!

A day after The United States struck Iran, Pastor Sarah and IUCC's Advocates for Peace and Justice ministry organized a candlelight vigil at the corner of Culver and Alton in Irvine to pray for peace. No more endless wars!

Today’s banner drop in Irvine. It wasn’t our favorite. 😕. A few locals stopped by to talk about maybe sharing this spot. Problem is they don’t care for Palestine. 😭. Why can’t yall see how racist that is?! Just as racist as ICE!? Come on man, connect the dots. And how can ANYONE be ok with killing children? Whew. But anyway, we did get 2 deliveries of whistle kits to protect our community from 🧊Thank you ‼️. Stop by our next drop in Fullerton and get one. We have them in Arabic, Spanish, and English. We are going to start the Irvine banner drop a bit earlier so the new flier has the updated times. #freepalestine🇵🇸 #ocbannerdrop4pali #abolishice #orangecounty
