We’ve set up a go fund me for access costs such as a BSL interpreter, sensory support equipment (and if we raise over it) basic production costs for our panto this year. If people wouldn’t mind sharing it that would be amazing!

For context this show (like all the Christmas ones we’ve done) has no sponsors or funding and all pre-production costs come straight from our pockets. We’ve been meeting around 3 times a week since summer to make a corker of a show for you all! It’s important to us the show is as accessible as possible while keeping it as the most affordable panto in Newcastle.

Thankyou! xx

If you’re joining us at Sunderland Shorts Film Fest you’re getting more than just the best new short films on the big screen, but fantastic live experiences including Q&As, industry masterclasses, networking, live music and stand-up comedy!

At our most recent edition the stand-up came from our friends at @feltnowt featuring Alex Redman, Joby Mageean and Lee Kyle on stage at The Fire Station ahead of the Comedy showcase screening.

What a great first night at a new venue. Thanks to @feltnowt for giving me the chance to headline. 17mins is the longest i’ve ever done and remebering it all was quite the struggle. Thanks @hollyreadshaw for great MC duties. Fantastic sets from @neillarsencomedy @yo_victoriakirk @thekerriscomedian @jamesmcomedy @tedgaukroger @hugo_comedy (no more biscuits for me) mark J Brown and held all together behind the scenes by our very own lighting director @johnveverything . I think I already like it more than the other place.

Writing 'Snow White Vs Cinderella' for our panto @standnewcastle in December, with @hellohannahlm @kelly.rickard_123 @elainerobertson_ and found the footage of me jumping into the filthy water at Marine Park in Shields for the 2018 show. Filmed by @sammytinks

You simply can not accuse me of not going too far for a gag.

Nobody asked me to do this.

My next four week Zoom workshop, How To Make A Stand Up Show, starts next Tuesday (29th September) at 7pm and for the next three Tuesdays after that.

I directed 5 shows this Edinburgh and specialise in working on debut shows. I’ve directed over twenty in all and have a book available on the subject too. Have directed shows by Chris Cantrill, Sammy Dobson, Elaine Robertson, Jake Donaldson and lots more.

Feel free to email me for more information, that and the way to get a place, is on the image.

It’s useful for: Stand up comedians who are looking to write a solo show at any point in the future.

Stand up comedians who want to improve their set, creativity, writing and performance in general.

Other performers hoping to create a show who would like to improve connection with the crowd, writing and editing and show structure.

It isn't for people who have never performed, I start with the assumption that you've done at least a few gigs, it's about making a show not writing a set.

Here are some comments from people who did the workshops earlier this year:

“I just wanted to say thank you for the course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot in each session.”

“I loved the sessions, wish it was longer than 4 weeks!”

“Thank you so much for the course, it absolutely consolidated a lot of stuff I already do, and some stuff that I didn't realise that I already do, and most importantly filled in the gaps in my understanding!“

Price: £80
