Your body is wise.

When something overwhelming happens, it knows how to brace. To fight, to run, to freeze, to keep the peace. Sometimes it learns those patterns so well that it forgets how to soften, even once the danger has passed.

Trauma-sensitive yoga is a gentle place to begin again. A slow, simple practice where you get to notice what you feel, choose what you do, and stop anytime. You’ll hear invitations, never commands. There’s nothing to perfect and no right way to do it. Every choice you make with your body is welcome here.

This class is for the body that learned to brace. It’s for those navigating complex trauma and PTSD, burnout, sexual or birth trauma, or anyone who has never quite felt at home in a studio class.

This is not a replacement for therapy. It is a movement class. Many people find it a good companion to therapy, and you do not need to be in therapy or have a diagnosis to attend. If you’d like to explore therapy, I’d be happy to hear from you.

You don’t need any yoga experience. You don’t need to share your story. There are no hands-on adjustments. Open to all adults 18+, deep-feelers and over-thinkers alike.

This happened years ago and I’ll never forget it.

Students deserve trauma-informed spaces, at the very least.

Or better yet- an option tailored just for them.

That’s what Trauma-Sensitive Yoga is all about.

I can’t wait to hold this space for you.

Becoming a parentified child doesn’t only happen in situations of extreme abuse or neglect. It can also happen in situations where a parent is chronically struggling with their own mental health or the symptoms of systemic trauma (such as having to work multiple jobs to make ends meet and never being home to tend to your emotional or physical needs). This type of parentification is actually so common and under recognized as the trauma that it is on a child’s developing nervous system.

If this sounds like you, know that change is possible. Visit the link in bio and schedule a free, no-pressure consultation to see if working together feels like a good fit!

As a recovering perfectionist I can attest that will power and optimization is not what shifted these patterns for me. Excelling academically felt so good til it felt like the only choice.

You don’t have to spend your whole life proving you’re worthy, babe.

If you’re ready to explore what’s underneath your perfectionism, schedule a no-pressure consultation at the link in bio.

talk about deep feelers…

this back to school season’s got me feeling some kind of way. as much as i look forward to having more routine, id be lying if i said i wont miss these slower days with less on the schedule.

and this subtle heartache really isn’t just about what’s on the calendar. it’s also the acknowledgment that time is passing. that my kids are growing older, just as i am. that every new milestone, however exciting, also means saying goodbye to the person they used to be. who i used to be, as well. (queue john mayer stop this train 😅).

i feel it in my bones- even as a second year homeschool mother. i know each new season will require something different from me. there’s a whisper in my ear, questioning do you have what it takes? can you handle it all? can you be the home educator and mother your children need, and continue to build an impactful, profitable business- the business you dream of??

i’m grateful though, because these whispers — they were once roars. through my own somatic therapy, i’ve learned to turn the volume of my fears down, and the volume of my heart up. i trust my intuition that this path i’m on is right for me, and that i have what it takes to succeed. 💓

so if anyone else is feeling tender right now in this season of transition, know i’m right there with ya in the Deep Feelers Social Club. 🫶🏼

represent your tender heart with the new Deep Feelers tshirt- all proceeds from the Deep Feelers Campaign go to @foster_care_essentials, a nonprofit providing free essentials — clothing, diapers, school supplies, hygiene products — to families caring for children in foster and kinship care, so every child has what they need to feel steady, and every family stepping up gets support too.

I made something new that I’m excited to share, though I’m more excited about the purpose behind it. 🤗

This is the Deep Feelers Social Club. Two hand mirrors cross at the center — like tennis, but make it introspective 😉. If you’ve ever visited the depths within yourself, you know it takes real courage to see yourself truly. The parts you’re proud of. The parts you’d rather not name. The parts still healing.

𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 is for anyone who has learned that softness is a strength, not something to hide.

Before I became a therapist, I worked as a Social Worker with the Department of Children and Families, sitting with foster families through some of their hardest moments. That experience shaped my entire career, leading me to complex trauma and the embodied work I do today.

So this fundraiser is personal. All profits go to Foster Care Essentials, a nonprofit providing free essentials — clothing, diapers, school supplies, hygiene products — to families caring for children in foster and kinship care, so every child has what they need to feel steady, and every family stepping up gets support too.

𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫. Come as you are, and help another child feel a little more at home.

If any of these stories sound familiar, you don’t have to keep carrying them alone.

Somatic therapy doesn’t ask you to think your way out of shame. It works with your nervous system directly, so the old bracing can finally soften, and the parts of you that learned to hide can be met instead.

If you’re ready to stop arguing with the story and start coming home to your body, I’d love to work with you.

Soliciting client reviews as a therapist is a bit of a gray area due to confidentiality and other legal and ethical concerns. When a former client of mine offered to write a review and sent this one over (paraphrased here, and shared with permission) it just warmed my heart and filled me with gratitude for getting to witness and take part in these kinds of transformations!

Slowing down isn’t the same as falling behind. It might actually be the thing that gets you back to yourself.

This fall I’m teaching somatic yoga at the Relax and Restore Retreat, hosted by my friend Kristin Gauthier of @nourishwomenshealth_.

Imagine having a few days to unwind what’s been held too tight, and remember what it feels like to move from a place of trust instead of pushing and overriding, putting everyone’s needs before your own.

There’s one room left. It can be private, or shared as a double if you want to bring someone with you.

I’m looking forward to both teaching and enjoying this retreat as a participant myself! If this resonates, DM me SLOW and I’ll send ya the link! 🌸

When the energy that goes into numbing and suppressing your emotions gets freed up through actually allowing yourself to feel and to express… 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼✨✨✨

And if the thought of learning to be in your body feels scary for you- I get it. You don’t have to go through it alone. Together we learn how to slow things down and touch into what’s there in it bit by bit way, rather than diving right into the deep end.

Not only is that approach much more sustainable for your nervous system, but it also offers you a new felt experience that “I can feel this emotion with support/without being overwhelmed/while still feeling safe.” 🌸

And we’re all about making space for something new around here. 😌

I didn’t know if I was going to share any of this at all. I’ve spent literally all year preparing for this moment. So many very difficult, emotional conversations, and so many tears (many of them were mine lol).

I just burned my business to the ground.

It feels a little unreal still. I’m definitely right now feeling very sad about saying goodbye to many of my incredible clients. I don’t think people realize how deep the relational dynamic can be- it’s not a one way street (at least not with me).

I know it was the right decision, and it’s undoubtedly an exciting new chapter. I’d love to elaborate more on that when the time is right- but first, I’m honoring what is showing up for me now.

Sending so much love to all my clients- past, present, and future. You have impacted me more than you know just by being you, showing up for yourself authentically each week, allowing yourself to be seen and be vulnerable. It’s truly and honor to know you.

First, sadness. Then, we celebrate.
