Your weaker foot won’t magically become your stronger foot. 👀⚽️

The more you use it, the more comfortable you become with it.

Passing. Receiving. Turning. Finishing.

It might feel awkward at first — that’s the point.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable, give that foot more opportunities to work, and over time it starts to feel much more natural.

Stop avoiding your weaker foot. Start using it. 👊⚽️

The challenge was never a lack of women coaches. It's the systems around them.

At the IWG Global Summit 2026, Tucker Center Director Dr. Nicole M. LaVoi joined Professor Leanne Norman (Loughborough University) and Female Coaching Network Founder Vicky Huyton for A Global Conversation on Women in Coaching, bringing together research, real-world application, and voices from the global coaching community.

The result: the launch of the Global Coaching Systems Exchange, a new international network connecting researchers, coach developers, and sport leaders to share what's working and build coaching systems where women don't just enter the profession, but lead and stay in it.

Lasting change happens together. Learn how to join the Exchange. Link in our BIO.

The job of a professional basketball coach isn’t to have all the answers.

It’s to relentlessly search for better ones.

Every season is different. Every roster is different. What won games six months ago might not work today. Players evolve. Opponents adjust. Leagues change.

The coaches who last aren’t the ones who stubbornly cling to what they’ve always done. They’re the ones willing to challenge their own beliefs, admit when something isn’t working, and adapt before everyone else does.

Watch film. Learn. Experiment. Fail. Adjust. Repeat.

The moment you think you’ve figured everything out is usually the moment the game starts passing you by.

Adaptability isn’t a coaching skill.
It’s the job.

Mary Cain has done something extraordinarily difficult. She has written honestly, and at great personal cost, about what happened to her.

This is a book that deserves to be read slowly, seriously, and with humility.

These slides are a small attempt to hold some of what it asks of us.

Mary’s book is now available in the US, and will shortly be available around the world.

Everyone wants the result.
Very few want the responsibility that comes with the work.

This is the part no one claps for —
the cold mornings, the empty fields, the sessions that feel pointless…
until the day they don’t.

Talent shows when the lights are on.
Consistency shows when no one is watching.

If you’re serious about your football, stop waiting for perfect conditions.
Champions are built on the days when everyone else taps out.

Today’s focus?
Developing different dribbling variables — changing speeds, changing touches, and moving through scenarios that show up in real games.
Learning how to control tempo, adjust your actions, and stay composed as the picture keeps changing.

Own your development.

Received my appreciation certificate today💃🏾💃🏾

This certificate means more than just attendance.

It took me back to a moment on that panel… a question that made me pause, smile, and reflect on my own journey

“How do you coach your female athletes through their cycle?”

Because the truth is I didn’t have that knowledge during my racing days.

Some days I’d wake up feeling strong.
Other days… naskia tu sijui aje was the phrase

I got into sport in my 30s 😂
So I know what it feels like to show up without fully understanding your own body.

Now, sitting on that panel at a conference focused on empowering the girl child in sport…
That was full circle.

Train smart. Fuel right. Honor your cycle.

And now… I make sure my athletes don’t have to guess.

⚖️The Paris 2024 Olympics were celebrated for gender equality. Yet only 13% of coaches were women. If sport is serious about inclusion, it can’t just invite women to “fit in”. The system itself needs to change.

Through my work supporting women and girls in coaching and officiating, I see the impact women coaches have every day. But progress can’t rely on the power of one to break barriers forever. Real change happens when ‘I’ becomes ‘We’ and one becomes #OneOfMany.

Equity isn’t about advantage for some. It’s about dignity, safety, and fairness for everyone.

Now the challenge is changing the system, so the next generation never has to prove they belong in a space that should have been theirs all along #BalanceTheScales.
