She made nearly $30K overnight. Then she had to figure out how to actually make the product. Amara Onwukaeme built Femigist (@femigist) , a botanical-powered brand for hormone-related symptoms, after years of struggling with symptoms nobody could explain. Demand showed up before operations did — which is terrifying, and also the best problem a founder can have. Validation first. Perfection later. Full interview free — link in bio. I have spent years on the backend of accelerators and programs, building the infrastructure, writing the copy, managing the communications, and cheering everyone else into the room. This time I get to be in the room. This community is exactly what I believe in: founders who are building real things, doing real work, and showing up for each other along the way. To my fellow fellows, I see you, and I am rooting for you. #BlackGirlVentures #ELF2026 #EmergingLeadersFellowship #BGV

When you can work and have your son @manny.fosu explore @yalebvs at the same time! PRICELESS! Last week, I had the privilege of speaking at @yale as an SMB Panelist for the Yale Black Venture Summit 💙. I shared what it really takes to build something that lasts as an entrepreneur 20 years in! So very proud of my mentee, love seeing you blossom @lucymbrice 😘 From reinvesting everything we had into our first business… to learning that cash flow, not just profit, is what keeps you alive… to understanding that systems, people, and discipline will take you further than just ideas ever will. Too often, we think more money will solve the problem. But the truth is, clarity, structure, and understanding your numbers changes everything. Don’t be afraid of the math. Don’t skip the foundation. And don’t build faster than you’re ready to sustain. Grateful to be in rooms like this, pouring into the next generation of builders, leaders, and visionaries. Stay tuned for the videos… this conversation was powerful. 🎥✨ #venturecapital #publicspeaking #entrepreneurlife #businessmindset #women

Grateful is an understatement. 💫 Thank you, Amara Onwukaeme, for stepping into the iCreate space and pouring into our community with such honesty, power, and intention. Your reflections on women, entrepreneurship, and building with purpose reminded us what it truly means to lead authentically and unapologetically. In honor of Women’s History Month, this conversation felt especially powerful. It was a reminder that we stand on the shoulders of women who dared to create, disrupt, and lead and that we each carry that responsibility forward in our own way. To @femigist by creating space for women to prioritize their well-being, healing, and wholeness, you are redefining what it means to lead, live, and build sustainably. A special thank you to @everybodywater a women-founded brand, for keeping our community hydrated throughout the session. Your commitment to providing clean, accessible water while giving back to global water initiatives is powerful and necessary. We were intentional in bringing you into this space because even something as simple as water is a reminder that we must pour into ourselves as we pour into others. To everyone who joined us in the room, your presence, your energy, your openness…thank you for trusting iCreate as a space for real conversations and meaningful connection. We cannot wait to welcome you back into the room. Until then, keep creating ❣️ 📸 @bruortet

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re honored to welcome entrepreneur, women’s health advocate, founder Amara Onwukaeme (@weamouramara) to the next installment of the iCreate Series. Amara is the Founder and Chief Estrogen Officer of @Femigist a Black-owned, plant-powered women’s hormonal wellness brand born from her own journey navigating PCOS and the gaps in care that so many women face. What began as a personal health struggle evolved into a nationally recognized wellness brand and cultural movement. And recently, after applying year after year, Amara stepped onto a Harvard stage at the @harvardhbs Black New Venture Competition and walked away with FIRST PLACE. Amara reminds us that sustainable change doesn’t wait for permission — it gets built. Join us as we explore what it means to turn pain into purpose, ideas into movement, and vision into impact. 📅 Thursday, March 12, 2026 ⏰ 6:00–7:30 PM 📍 Harvard Graduate School of Education 🔒 HUID Cardholders & Harvard Affiliates Only 📨Room details will be sent prior to the event We can’t wait to welcome her to the iCreate community.
