Scattered Sessions is delighted to announce our Culture Night double bill!

This Culture Night, Friday September 18th, join Scattered Sessions at Hole in the Wall, Kilkenny for a special double bill of live performance and conversation.

Hosted by musician and composer Oisín Quigley, Scattered Sessions brings musicology into the public sphere through intimate performances and conversations with leading artists.

5:00-6:30 PM - EPISODE #2: INNI-K
(Doors 4:30)

An intimate evening of conversation and music with acclaimed sean-nós singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Inni-K (Eithne Ní Chatháin).

Rooted in sean-nós and traditional Irish music while constantly moving into new territory, Inni-K’s singular sound draws from folk, ambient, jazz and art-song. Her latest album, Still a Day, was released in 2025 to widespread acclaim.

9:00–10:30 PM - EPISODE #3: MICHAEL HIGGINS & OLI RYAN
(Doors 8:30)

Experimental filmmaker Michael Higgins and composer Oli Ryan present their latest expanded cinema performance, UP CLOSE REMOTE CONTROL.

Analogue projectors, film, contact microphones, acoustic exciters and other devices come together through improvisation, allowing image and sound to be generated, interrupted and transformed in real time.

The performance will be followed by an audience Q&A, exploring extended cinema, real-time composition and the blurred lines between cinema and musical performance.

Where: Hole in the Wall, Kilkenny
When:Friday, September 18th
FREE EVENT, DONATIONS APPRECIATED
Booking required - Link in bio.

Come for one session or make a night of it and join us for both.

Today I celebrate 13 years of sobriety. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years. This year has been one of the toughest I’ve faced since putting down the drink. At one point I even doubted my sobriety, wondering what the point was. However, I’m consistently being reminded that I made the right decision. Life is a real trip being able to witness it through a clear lens. If anyone thinks they might have a problem, please reach out to me, or someone close to you. Sharing how you’re feeling will lessen the pain, and will help others. Connection is everything. All is Love. Please don’t worry though, I’m still a rale bad bastard at the back of it all.

And there it is, our first year done.

Thank you to everyone who chose to stick their heads in to our weird and wonderful trailer dedicated to Twin Peaks!
We hope you all enjoyed some damn fine cherry pie & coffee black as midnight on a moonless night, we hope you enjoyed the small journey through the different scenes from the series, we hope that the Red Room left you both bewildered and enlightened, and we hope that the Log spoke to you and offered words of wisdom or revelations.

We hope to be back for next year's festival, but until then please remember every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.
