This version of the song “Ötme Bülbül” was recorded in the beautiful Sommerfest envisioned by @nico.cello.nar 👏🏽 Huge thanks also to @simons_musikoase for making such wonderful sound engineering both live as in post production ✨

Ötme Bülbül is a poem by the Alevi poet Pir Sultan Abdal (16th century) that talks about martyrdom and mourning of the oppressed ones that fight for freedom and justice. Pir Sultan Abdal ended up being ex*ecuted by the authorities because of his words and music. We solidarize with minorities, religious and political freedom so we will not forget songs like this. The nightingale will sing again ✊🏽

Last year at the @soundsculpturehandpan festival @fernandolyrasounds thought me the twisted 7/8 and I really locked into this rhythm. He was also one of the first persons to confront me with odd time signatures and a whole new word opened up. You are an inspiration man!

So I composed a song called "7th melody" and played it on stage, it was a huge step for me. Thank you @leanderhandpan for bringing me on stage this year!

Played on my E Amara 20 made by @deepan.handpan and it sits on a stand from @atlas_for_handpan

🌀 INTRODUCTION TO KONNAKOL — FATT 2026 🌀

Do you want to turn your voice into a percussion instrument?

Rooted in the musical traditions of South India, Konnakol is a rhythmic language in which different syllables are used to represent rhythms, patterns, and percussion sounds.

At FATT 2026, Fernando Lyra will introduce us to the world of Konnakol, teaching its foundations and showing how this language can be used to understand, create, and develop different rhythmic patterns.

An opportunity to discover a different way to feel, think, and build rhythm — starting with the instrument we all carry with us: our voice. 🔥
