“100% Pure Peace,” a video installation by DMV based artist Steven Ferri @ferriartwork is now on view in Transformer’s storefront window through October 20. Set against the city’s unprecedented moment under federal occupation, the video depicts a toy soldier submerged in a mason jar as Amish honey is slowly poured in. As the golden liquid envelopes the figure, it overflows the jar and fills the frame, ultimately drowning out the soldier and the container itself. The work employs two contrasting symbols—the mass-produced toy soldier and the organic Amish honey—exploring the tensions between violence and pacifism, war and peace, and confrontation and surrender. Happy #FlatFileFriday! Each week Transformer highlights an artist and their work available for sale from our ever growing FlatFile program. Swipe to view new FlatFile prints by DC based artist Steven Ferri! @ferriartwork Ferri is a contemporary artist who works in painting, drawing, photography, and film. His work is characterized by an interest in the tools and techniques used in contemporary art combined with digital technology and filmmaking. The Fragmentation series is a commentary on the cyclical nature of image-making. The series explores the process or state of an image breaking or being broken into small or separate parts and recombining those parts into a new image. The process then repeats itself. The resulting paintings are accidental, ready-made, and have no clear beginning or end. "My work is about the joy and challenge of exploration, experimentation, and embracing the accidental. Looking back, it stands on the accomplishments of other artists, but looking forward, it seeks to create and present to the viewer things that have not yet been seen or understood." - Steven Ferri Click the link in bio to purchase Ferri's available work! Image Credits: Ferri, “As if it Matters, Fragmentations No. 6,” 2025 (Detail View) Ferri, "Until You Find Out, Fragmentation No. 5," 2025 Ferri, "When You Least Expect It, Fragmentation No. 13," 2025 Ferri, "That He Loved Her, Fragmentation No. 14," 2025 Ferri, "Since You Asked, Fragmentation No. 3," 2025 Ferri, "Hard to See You, Fragmentation No. 2," 2025

Congratulations to our KAC Gallery of Fellow Artists “Color:BLACK” exhibition Favorite Art, Honorable Mention (second favorite) Art, and Favorite Artist(s), as voting on by the KAC GFA Featured Artists and the fellow “Color:BLACK exhibition artists. This exhibition showcased over 50 works of true art by 20 artists from all over the world, and was visited by artists and art-lovers from 31 countries. And as curator, I am please to note that the voting for these awards were so evenly spread out that, even with an extended jury (tapping previous exhibition artists for their votes), each of the winners won by only one point or vote, and as well each category resulted in ties. ** EXHIBITION FAVORITE ART ** Black & White II., by Kornelia-Koni Boros @koniborosart ~ tie ~ Abstract No. 46 – 24, by THOTRA @minimaleslines ** HONORABLE MENTION (Second Favorite) ART ** Hecho a Pedazos, by Francisco Postlethwaite @pancho.lorenz ~ tie ~ Caught In The Storm, by Cher-Antoinette @cher.antoinette_studio ** FAVORITE ARTIST ** Steven Ferri @ferriartwork ~ tie ~ Kornelia-Koni Boros The “Color:BLACK” exhibition helped the KAC GFA website see a 300% jump in site visitors compared to last year, and the general positive from exhibition visitors have been positively laudatory. I personally thank these fine artists — of a wide variety of styles, backgrounds, skills, visions, and narratives — for their outstanding contributions, and I speak for all KAC GFA artists in thanking those exhibition visitors for than very enthusiastic support. The “Color:BLACK” exhibition can presently still be seen on the KAC GFA website landing page (through the KAC GFA website link in my profile) though the exhibition officially ended on Sunday, but it will soon transition into the “Past Exhibitions” section, where it will still be available in its entirety.

Celebrating all the KAC GFA “Color:BLACK” selected artists who have contributed their wide-ranging creativity, skill, and visual language to such successfully collaborative, thematic editorial. With just a few days left of the exhibitions official run (it will remain viewable under “Past Exhibitions”) we offer another opportunity to follow — or continue following — their artistic careers through at least IG here through the accounts tagged in this image. (Tap “tagged” icon over the lower left corner of the image.) And thanks to the global audience of art-lovers and fellow artists who have visited and shared the site exhibition. This is the true purpose of the KAC GFA — share more art and artists to a wider audience, and to engage more people, people previously not engaged in art, to discover and develop an initial or growing interest in art and artists.
