It took a village. Three women built one. 🩷

In 2020 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer before I’d had the chance to become a mom. Treatment meant IVF, one embryo, and the news I’d need a surrogate — at a cost of $150,000, with none of the financial support oncology patients deserve.

So two other survivors, Victoria Raphael and Ann Palmer, and I googled how to start a nonprofit, filled the chip dip at our own fundraisers, and bootstrapped A Chance For Life from nothing.

My son, Chance, arrived in December 2023 — months after we awarded our first grant.

This summer, our first grant recipients, Rusty and Christina, welcomed their daughter Stella after a two-year wait for the right surrogate. Every dollar donated helped make that happen.

We were three women who turned pain into purpose. And we won’t rest until every woman gets her Chance.

Donate at www.achanceforlife.org or at the link in bio and join our village. 🩷

The things that actually support your fertility aren’t complicated. @fertility_ny gave @tamsenfadal the real list.

Protein, movement, less alcohol, no smoking. And stress, while real, is not why you’re not getting pregnant.

The basics matter. And you’re probably already closer than you think.

Have you heard the term “Ozempic baby”? Fertility expert @fertility_ny explains what’s actually happening.

For women with PCOS, GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy reduce insulin resistance, which can be enough to trigger ovulation for the first time in months or years. Women who weren’t ovulating started ovulating. That’s the whole story behind the headlines.

Dr. Grifo told @tamsenfadal there’s also emerging research on GLP-1s and inflammation, which may have its own effect on fertility. The science is still developing, but it’s promising.
