Ffotogallery has been working closely with photographer @bookertphoto to make this year’s ffoto Cymru more accessible and inclusive.

Through his ongoing research into 3D-printed photographic reliefs, Booker is transforming 2D digital images into tactile experiences, allowing people to explore photographs through touch.

These reliefs offer new ways for visually impaired people and people living with dementia to engage with images, reconnect with memories and experience the power of photography beyond sight.

Together, we’re exploring how photography can be made more accessible, meaningful and available to everyone 💫

#accessibleart #accessiblephotography #ffotocymru2026 #ffotocymru #ffotogallery

Mae Ffotogallery wedi bod yn gweithio’n agos gyda’r ffotograffydd @bookertphoto i wneud ffoto Cymru eleni yn fwy hygyrch a chynhwysol.

Drwy ei ymchwil barhaus i ryddhadau ffotograffig wedi’u hargraffu mewn 3D, mae Booker yn trawsnewid delweddau digidol 2D yn brofiadau cyffyrddol, gan alluogi pobl i archwilio ffotograffau drwy gyffwrdd.

Mae’r rhyddhadau hyn yn cynnig ffyrdd newydd i bobl â nam ar eu golwg a phobl sy’n byw gyda dementia ymgysylltu â delweddau, ailgysylltu ag atgofion a phrofi grym ffotograffiaeth y tu hwnt i’r gallu i weld.

Gyda’n gilydd, rydym yn archwilio sut y gellir gwneud ffotograffiaeth yn fwy hygyrch, ystyrlon ac ar gael i bawb 💫

glom is an oral history/docufiction project looking at the psychic effects that darkness and the subterra had on communities in the valleys in the 20thC. Set on an alien planet, the project reimagines this history through a landscape where coal and humans co-evolved into a new being .

mae glom yn hanes llafar / dogfennol-ffuglenol sy’n edrych ar yr effeithiau seicig sydd gan y tywyllwch a subterra ar cymunedau’r cymoedd yn ystod y 20fedC. ar planed estron, mae’r prosiect yn ailddychmygu’r hanes hon trwy tirwedd lle cyd-esblygodd glô a bodau dynol mewn i rhywogaeth newydd.
Fe daw Glom o’r cyfnos, gob o’r gwactod, glo o’r glô

Cafodd Glom ei greu gydag animeiddwyr Nick Delap, archifwyr Maxou Kelly Auredau, cyfweleion Clive Stolzenberg, Ceri Thompson, Wayne Tomos a Gareth Butcher, a chymeriadau a straeon wedi i’w creu gyda grŵp ieuenctid Ystradgynlais a Queetawe. WHAT’S YOUR WALES?

OPEN CALL — Be part of a new photography exhibition at Oriel Colwyn.

We’re putting together a new exhibition celebrating the many different ways Wales can be seen, experienced and understood.

What does Wales mean to you?
What does the Welsh community mean to you?
What does it feel like, look like or mean to have a connection to this place?

You don’t need to be Welsh. You don’t need to live in Wales.
You might be Welsh-born and living abroad. You might have lived here all your life. You might have moved here, visited often, have family here, visited on your holidays, or simply have a connection to Wales that’s difficult to put into words.

We’re interested in all of it.

We’re looking for photographs that say something about your Wales — made in Wales, or exploring your connection to Wales and its people, places and communities.

It could be a landscape, a portrait, a street scene, a family moment, an everyday detail, something unexpected, something familiar, or simply something that captures a feeling or your experience of Wales and the Welsh community.

There are no restrictions on style or approach. We want to see your perspective of Wales or Welshness.

FREE TO ENTER

Submit up to 2 images for consideration.
Your images can be connected as part of a series, or completely unrelated individual photographs.

Images selected for the open call will be printed by us at no cost to you and exhibited in the gallery at Oriel Colwyn throughout December and January. Selected works will also be shared online via our social networks.

Link in bio...
ENTRIES CLOSE 23:59, SUNDAY 08 NOVEMBER

Through experimental approaches to photography, Aisling Edwards and Dafna Talmor explore the landscapes we inhabit, remember and imagine. From the contested land of Epynt in mid-Wales to reimagined photographic landscapes, their work invites us to look beyond the visible, uncover hidden histories and consider what lies on the other side of a boundary.
