BOUCHRA by Orian Barki @changeme2012 & Meriem Bennani @meriembennani makes her way to UK cinemas on Friday 7 August.

Bouchra (35), is a queer Moroccan coyote and artist, juggling her life in New York and her family in Morocco, in the process of finishing the script for her autobiographical film, she unearths unreconciled conflicts and pursues new romances.

We can’t wait for you to meet her 💜

As part of the T A P E film club and thanks to the support from the BFI Audience Fund we in 2025 were able to release 4 films as part of the project and which we continue to screen this year.

If you watched The Ballad Of Suzanne Cesaire, In The Nguyen Kitchen, Can I Get A Witness? and / or Animalia in cinemas or at a community cinema we would be very grateful if you could please complete a survey to help us capture its impact. Link to survey is in our bio.

The T A P E Film Club bridges the gap between theatrical releases and audiences. Often, films disappear after a theatrical release but that shouldn’t be the case – the T A P E slate is timeless. Instead it should be possible (and easier) for audiences to find and create relevancy, situate and explore themes and ideas, and experience films in varying contexts and spaces.
