@loud_documentary

It's hard to describe our past weekend at Body Language. Thrill, laughs, stress, 30h roadtrip, rain, sunrise, ticks, dancing, missed ferry, great music and amazing people were all part of it. @exploria went above and beyond to create a safe space of pure joy for 2 days straight 🪩

I’m super excited to announce the production of LOUD, a documentary series following @cleoleigh_ and the electronic music community of Newfoundland. What started out as a single live-set recording ended up in something much bigger, and I couldn’t be happier than to work with this amazing amazing crew 🖤

🎥 Sharing a few screen grabs from the footage

Huge thanks to @exploriasound for making BL4 happen

Shoutout to @cam___peck for the stunning woodwork

☀️ BODY LANGUAGE YEAR FOUR 🌙

Our annual intimate summer kick-off party is back for its fourth rendition. This year, we’ve expanded the celebration to two days - June 27th and 28th.

This marks the second year at our new home in Petite Riviere, tucked away in the alluring South Shore region of Nova Scotia. Like each year, we’re upping the ante to pack your weekend full of exciting music from far and wide, while showcasing some of the top selectors our neck of the woods has to offer.

The exact location is ~90 minutes from Halifax and will be shared with ticketholders the week of the event. More info will be shared leading up to the event, so please keep an eye out.

To maintain an intimate vibe, this is once again a limited-capacity event. Tickets in previous years went quickly! We encourage you to act fast to reserve your spot.

Tickets are on sale now at the link in our bio!

As always, our incredible BL poster was designed by our dear friend @tomb_leaf

I'm super elated to announce I've curated the next compilation in the Place VA series, brought to you by @airtexture. Here is a selection of clips pulled from the compilation, starting with the lead single "Skatter" by our very own @_y0hei, followed by:

• Kaspr - Ether Song
• Eejungmi & Nick P - Green Clementine
• Ricardo Laine - Latex & Rose Water
• Measure Divide - Splunk
• Daniel 58 - Blue Warhead Pickle
• Cal C - Dial Up Toad
• Ficilio - Alba
• Generator - Freaky 2nite

I first came across the Place VA series when I received a promo for Place: Tbilisi. I loved the idea of creating a snapshot of a music scene using music made by local producers because there is no greater testament of a healthy music scene than musical output that transcends city boundaries and national borders. 🫶🏻

Toronto as a dance music scene reflects the diverse demographic of its inhabitants. Our proximity to Detroit, NYC, and Montréal, our connection with London and the Caribbean, and status as a major immigrant hub has helped establish a scene that's a true melting pot of sounds, from warehouse techno to ragga jungle, from leftfield house to dancehall, from hi def trance to lofi chuggers. I always say I DJ in an open genre style that can only come from here, so it made a world of sense to take on this curatorial project.

Over the next while we will be previewing more tracks from the VA, exclusive Q+As with the artists on the release, and on May 8 + 9 there will be a two-day release party and stream taking place at @standardtime.to and @cs__radio in Toronto. Ticket info to come so please save the dates!

Standard Time is excited to present the debut of Paula Tape, Laurence Matte and Enzo Deejay alongside Bittern Imports, who will be taking over our space from 8-10PM with special wine focused programming to be announced.

The Chilean DJ and producer Paula Tape is best known for her intricate knowledge of balearic sounds whilst also mastering the skill of working-up dancefloors across the globe with her distinct style and extensive sets which cross the bridge between underground floor-fillers and indefinable synth house sounds.

Growing up in Santiago De Chile, before moving to Europe, she started her musical journey by playing drums for multiple indie bands in her hometown which then sparked her dj inclination for polyrhythmic patterns.

The percussive sounds of the drums are a distinct sound which she’s brought into her own productions, remixes and are a key feature of when she plays out dj sets across the globe.

It’s brave to resist the crowd’s lust for a big drop or obvious track, but that’s what Laurence Matte does when she casts a spell on the dance floor on her own terms. Her long and winding DJ sets are fluid and responsive trips that are often slow-burning. Genres become blurred as she threads together steamy jungle dubs, psyched-out and percussive grooves and loose-limed rhythms that have transfixed crowds everywhere from Piknic Électronik in her native Montréal to Heart in Ibiza, Art With Me in Tulum and Teksupport in New York. In these times of instant gratification and short-lived pleasures, Laurence Matte is defying convention with the art of slow-motion sonic seduction and lasting emotional rewards.

Enzo Deejay, aka Ficilio, is a new alias that pulls inspiration from the sounds of late 80s and 90s dance music with a contemporary twist. Behind the decks expect an eclectic mix of downtempo, balearic, house and more.

Join us early from 8-10PM on February 24th as we host a special tasting event with Bittern to kick off our epic evening.

For limited free RSVP entry between 8-10pm, please email rsvp@standardtime.to

Excited for this one! Join us as Bradley Zero launches A Standard Sunday - our new event series which runs from 3-10PM on select Sunday afternoons. Come experience our space as it transforms from day to night as we kick things off alongside the Geary Art Crawl.

Hailing from London, England , Bradley Zero is quickly becoming the tastemaker of his generation. As founder of the Rhythm Section institution, Bradley has carved out a unique role for himself within the vibrant London scene as Resident Club DJ, Broadcaster and Label Boss of one of the most exciting new imprints today – Rhythm Section International.

This pioneering work in building the foundations for club culture in Peckham did not go unnoticed and soon Bradley was enlisted as a core programmer and host of the Boiler Room, when the platform was still in it’s infancy. During the early days of the broadcasting project - Bradley helped shape Boiler Room into the institution that it is today.

Now a familiar face on the international circuit, Bradley is spreading the Rhythm Section message far and wide. Support from peers and elders continues to be strong, with BBC favourites Gilles Peterson, Benji B & Mary Anne Hobbs all huge fans of the label, as well as NYC’s Tim Sweeney, who featured Bradley on Beats in Space.

At the core of it all is an infectious love for music, a passion for dancing, an urge to discover and a need to share this with the world. This adds together to make the man known as Bradley Zero (his real name!), one of the most vital selectors in the game, both behind the scenes and under the spotlight.

And kicking things off we're excited to host everyone's favourite men about town, Jan Cool and Ficilio, as they warm up the afternoon dance floor with a rare b2b celebration!

See you on September 24th - early doors at 3pm
