Our very first #wingsovermercer is in the books! While I feel like I could sleep for a week straight I’m also SO filled with love and gratitude for the entire WBRG team that rallied together to make this possible! It was so lovely meeting many of our participants in person to support this org that means so much to me.

It’s a critical time to find community and I’m so lucky that I’m surrounded by one thats as giggly and passionate as I am 💕

Fun and restorative day in Philly at the Discovery Center @discoveryphila sharing a full day Mindful Birding workshop with people from near and far.

We let the birds be our guides and tuned into this busy urban landscape that is being enriched and nourished by land stewards like @fiddleheadtoys and the many other people who connect others to birds and nature on this property.

Gratitude to my co-facilitator, Dr. Barb Patterson whose warmth and genuine care for all beings shined through and welcomed our participants. Barb came all the way from Fort Collins Colorado for this special day - thanks to Northern Colorado Bird Alliance…@nocobirdalliance is spreading its reach and wings far and wide with this special grant-funded project - thanks also to @audubonsociety for awarding them an Audubon in Action Grant to make this possible for so many people! And Daly at the @audubonrockies for SO much along this journey! 🙏

Special thanks also to Damien and Bria at the Discovery Center for all they did to make this day special for everyone!

Most importantly, deep bows of gratitude to the birds especially 💗. #discoverycenter #phillybirds #urbanbirding #audubonsociety #mindfulbirding #mindfulbirdingnetwork #mindfulbirdingpodcast #ornitherapy #communitybuilding

Yesterday was such an amazing experience! It was beautiful cutting the ribbon on the Glenda Anne Christopher Memorial Garden that @parkinatruck @jeffersonuniv and our Park Ambassadors at @empoweredcdc designed, built, and maintained.

Youth and Senior partnership is at the heart of @empoweredcdc and I’m glad to be able to see the Dreams Turn into Reality.

Finally, a special thank you to our Founder @reginagyoung my predecessor @valgaysings and our State Rep & the Speaker of the PA House of Reps @repmcclinton for all of your service and leadership throughout the decade of Empowered’s existence. Because of you, we are here.

This all gets me fired up for the Empowered Gala on August 10th! #linkinbio

The way the light shines on the pintail’s heads, the smiles of my friends, and the woodpeckers and kids sharing crabapples.

Incredible time at @johnheinznwr last weekend. Over 40 species and much joy. Highlights were Fox Sparrow, Brown Creeper, great time with a hunting Northern Harrier, and tons of cool waterfowl.

#Birding #PhillyBirdScene #InColorBirding #JohnHeinzWildlifeRefuge #Joy #BirdJoy

Description: Panels with a bunch of lovely people of all backgrounds out on a winter day. Winter browns on the trees and blue skies provided standout light to see everyone’s smiles and all of the birds. There are two videos, one of a Downy Woodpecker eating crabapples and another of a Red-bellied woodpecker eating crabapple it had just stored in a trunk hole.

Tiny bird art is where it's at. Was happy to see there's a bird art tag going around to be able to check out even more nerdy, arty bird folk.
