POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I had the privilege of spending the past two weeks at the Longhope TV Writing Residency with the Jakes Gerwel Institute in collaboration with M-Net Channels, in the historical Paulet House. ⛰️✈️

What I thought and hoped would be an opportunity to further my skills and path as a writer turned out to be that and so much more…

Amongst the intense deadlines and learning experiences, there were late nights filled with laughter and adventures exploring KwaNojoli (Somerset East). 🌄

I had to write the pilot episode for my television in only three days (a tough task)… Buuuuut I did it! And I couldn’t be more proud. 📝👸🏼

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to take the next few steps in my journey as a writer @theo.kemp @jakes_gerwel.foundation @mnettv .

And to Chef Gilbert for taking care of us every step of the way. 👨🏻‍🍳

Thank you for the guidance and mentorship @tina.kruger17 @carlamariemyburgh @muneera_sallies @delisilemzimela.

And thank you to @marilise_e @jesse._.brown @ksm_journal and @fiddy_s for the laughs, the support, the encouragement and the adventures. ✨🍿🍷

Ever wonder what a second AD actually does? 🎥

Sange Cakata (aka @sakesthebroadcaster ), Mzansi storyteller and second AD on Gogos Heist keeps the crew tight, the actors on time, and the set running smoothly. He calls it the ‘second stepfather’ role, making sure everyone has what they need and that the shoot stays on track, and the biggest lesson? Having patience. 😅

Gogos Heist airs TONIGHT at 7PM on Mzansi Bioskop, channel 164.

Get your popcorn ready! 🍿

Gogos Heist, coming soon! 🎬🍿

In the heart of Soweto, a legendary group of freedom fighters, now gogos, are back in action. When Zanele, the granddaughter of their late leader, is kidnapped by the ruthless crime boss Bra Skeem, the MK G4 Unit dusts off their old skills for one last mission.

Armed with wit, old-school spy tactics, and a few surprise weapons from their struggle days, these grandmothers prove that retirement doesn’t mean weakness. But as they race through Soweto, Bra Skeem’s paranoia, a hit TV show, and buried secrets threaten to turn their daring rescue upside down.

A fast-paced crime comedy packed with action, humor, and Kasi flavor, Gogo’s Heist proves you’re never too old to raise hell.

Premiering on Mzansi Bioskop, 26 October at 7PM, channel 164.
