First Half of 2026

— Six exhibitions. Six perspectives.

Throughout the first half of 2026, Atelier Roman Lipski presented a new exhibition each month, engaging with questions closely connected to contemporary life — from longevity and climate to digital culture, urban experience, perception, and time.

Together, these exhibitions brought artists, ideas, and conversations into our space, creating a season of exchange and reflection.

Thank you to all the artists, collaborators, and visitors who joined us throughout the season. We look forward to welcoming you back this September.

Time, perception, and alternative systems in works by Fiete Stolte (@fietestolte), currently on view in ‘Was ist Zeit?’.

Across the exhibition, Fiete Stolte questions the systems we rely on to understand and measure time. Rather than offering fixed answers, the works open up space to reconsider how time is structured, perceived, and experienced.

Take a walk through Fiete Stolte’s solo exhibition and discover the works at your own pace. Visit us daily from 11 AM to 4 PM through this Saturday.

Moments from the opening evening of WAS IST ZEIT? by Fiete Stolte (@fietestolte), featuring Atelier Talk guest Alicja Kwade (@alicjakwade), at ATELIER ROMAN LIPSKI.

Questioning the conventions of time, Fiete Stolte’s works invite visitors to rethink how the systems we live by shape perception and everyday life.

We were delighted to welcome conceptual artist Alicja Kwade as a guest of the ninth edition of the radio3 Atelier Talk. Together with Fiete Stolte and neuroscientist Dr. Torben Ott she joined a conversation exploring time from artistic and scientific perspectives.

On view through 11 July — Closed on Sundays.

Opening this Friday!

WHAT IS TIME? presents works by Fiete Stolte, whose practice explores how time structures perception and everyday life.

Developing an alternative system of time — with eight days per week and 21-hour days — Stolte questions the conventions that shape our routines, rhythms, and sense of reality. His works invite viewers to reflect on time not as a fixed given, but as a system that can be reimagined.

Join us on 3 July for the exhibition opening from 6 PM to 9 PM. At 7 PM, the evening continues with the ninth edition of the radio3 Atelier Talk, bringing together exhibition artist Fiete Stolte (@fietestolte), conceptual artist Alicja Kwade (@alicjakwade), and neuroscientist Dr. Torben Ott.

Five minutes on a Ferris wheel, five minutes during a root canal at the dentist – the same amount of time, two completely different worlds.

What time really is, how we perceive and value it, and what would happen if we measured it differently – these are the topics host Siham El-Maimouni explores in the ninth edition of the radio3 Atelier Talk with neuroscientist Dr. Torben Ott and artists Alicja Kwade and Fiete Stolte.

Internationally renowned conceptual artist Alicja Kwade (@alicjakwade) explores time, space, and the foundations of our reality in her work – including by disassembling clocks, multiplying them, and setting them to run against each other. Fiete Stolte (@fietestolte) developed an alternative time system with eight days per week and 21-hour days, artistically examining how temporal structures shape our lives.

Dr. Torben Ott researches how the brain calculates the value of time and how neural processes influence the way we deal with time.

A conversation about how time determines the way we think, feel, and act – and what it could mean to reimagine it.
— The Atelier Talk will be held in German.

Are we allowed to have favourites? If so, I’d have to say, installing this work by @fietestolte on the facade at @thedean hotel is right up there.

The work is made of reflective steel and mirrors the environment in which it resides. Morphing with the weather and the seasons.

As the Head Curator of the hotel, the team and I are building something pretty special this year as we try to continue to contribute to the local Berlin art scene, in ways not typical of a hotel.

Can’t wait to show you more!

Before you're even in the door of The Dean Berlin, you're met with a question posed by Berlin artists @fietestolte. It's a moment for reflection, literally and figuratively, that brings the outside in and sets the tone for your experience of what unfolds inside, whatever that may be.

We caught up with Julia and Fiete recently on their artistic process, working in an analogue way and the exact feeling you get when looking out the window at beautiful Charlottenburg below. To go even deeper on this beautiful piece, read the article at the link in bio.
