Last weekend, London Met's Climate Justice Society went to the Vegan Party Conference where we got to learn more about ensuring our policy creates a just and sustainable catering system for all 🙌

As part of our 'Plant-Based London Met' campaign, we attended talks and workshops, and got to meet incredible organisations to learn more about the work they do and possible collaborations 😎

Want to be able to attend informative and engaging conferences with us? Want to be part of policymaking history at London Metropolitan University? Join the Climate Justice Society through the Student Union website ✨️

Today we pled not guilty to public nuisance 🐴♥️

Over two years since our action, on the very place suffragette Emily Davison fought and died while protesting for women’s right to vote.

We were charged with public nuisance for disrupting the Epsom Derby, an event which relies on the exploitation of other beings for the sake of our entertainment, as people literally bet on the lives of these horses. We did this to highlight these injustices and the urgent need for us to move away from using animals; be it for entertainment, or more widely in our food system.

We will go to trial where I will proudly stand alongside these brave, inspiring women; and speak our truth to a jury of our peers.

See you in Guildford crown court 😘✌🏽

(Unfortunately Kat couldn’t make it so we had to edit her in!)
