Three years ago, our family adopted Abby from FDM @fightdogmeat_dot_com — a little dog who was around 2–3 years old and had just survived a near-death experience.

Abby was found with one leg caught in a dog thief’s trap, her neck covered in blood from electric shocks. Her body was scarred all over, and part of one ear was missing. We can only imagine what she had endured — perhaps being attacked by larger dogs while searching for food on the streets, or being chased away and mistreated by people.

By some miracle, Abby survived and did not lose her leg.

She has always been very shy around people, yet incredibly gentle and loving. She adores being petted and quietly staying close to those she trusts.

When Dash was still a baby, Abby became his little guardian. Whenever he cried or stirred in his sleep, she would come find me and let me know. Like many young children, Dash could sometimes play a little rough, but Abby was endlessly patient with him, always giving in and caring for him like a big sister.

And just like that, three years have passed. We celebrate her 3rd year with us together with our beloved friends.

Abby is no longer simply a dog we rescued — she is family. She is deeply loved, cherished every day, and a constant reminder of gratitude, resilience, and the beauty of a second chance at life.

We are so thankful that Abby found her way to us, and even more thankful that she chose to stay. ❤️🐾

Those cries really got me! 💔 If this is upsetting, remember that the animal flesh you buy to consume, wear or use in different forms, comes from innocent animals treated the same way. 🤔

A cat theft gang was busted in Songgang, Xincai, Zhumadian, Henan, China, on February 15th, 2026.

Volunteers were needed. I hope that these cats were saved. I will update if able.

Cat meat trade is more rampant than thought before. Every year estimated 5 - 8,5 million cats are slaughtered for human consumption and the number can actually be much bigger.

With this post I wanted to highlight the fact that this incident is very close to the three northeastern provinces. The practice of consuming cats and dogs across the country is spreading like an epidemic. The provinces of southern China have traditionally been cat meat-eating provinces.

Will more people in Northeast China eat cats in the future?

VIETNAM: DOG EATER DRAGGING DOG BEHIND MOTORBIKE
It’s heartbreaking and cruel. The same needs to be done to the dog-eater to show him how it feels. VIETNAM HAS ZERO EXCUSE FOR NO ANIMAL PROTECTION LAWS! “Thank you” to the animal lover who stopped and confronted the callous dog eater on the motorbike. Location is Dong Nai; a few hours of of Saigon. We don’t know the outcome but local law prohibits the animal lover from forcibly removing the dog from it’s ‘owner.’ The animal lover would have been arrested for theft of property if he took the dog.
If you’re a tourist brace yourself for scenes like this.
Vietnam is out of excuses!
