Got my book Acting On You (@fineperiodpress) signed by @icekrispie ❤️ Highly recommend asking Lee about plotless fiction, what happens when an extrovert becomes an introvert, and how one person can live so many lives. I appreciate you hanging out with me today #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #artistsoninstagram #artist

Thought the front table looked nice as I shut off the lights and closed the store the other day so had to snap a pic (first slide!).

ACTING ON YOU by our friend and former QB bookseller Lee Suksi (@icekrispie) is out in the world today!
Lee's illustrations are so beautifully fluid. Swipe for a small preview of some spreads from ACTING ON YOU. We're passing on the message that the launch event, which includes a drawing session (!!!), is tonight from 6-9pm at the gorgeous @918bathurst. ACTING ON YOU is published by @fineperiodpress.

✿ Acting on You explores the narrowing and deepening of the relationships in artist and author Lee Suksi’s life. Whether siblings, lovers or friends, pairs of people push and pull their way across these pages. Guided by their desire to find new modes of understanding and representing those evolving intimacies and inspired by psychoanalysis, astrology, and observation, Suksi uses pen and ink to bring a fresh dimension to the ways in which we act on each other.

About the author:
Lee Suksi’s first book, The Nerves (Metatron), won a 2021 Lambda Literary Award for best LGBTQ €r0ᴛɪᴄᴀ. Their writing appears or is forthcoming in a variety of places, including The Capilano Review, Public Parking, The Brooklyn Review, and anthologized in Secret ѕ€χ (Dundurn Press). They are resident astrologer at The Grind and have read in gazebos, saunas, galleries, basements, lounges and theatres coast to coast. Visit them online at leesuksi.com

Today’s Sunday Read is this amazing, small but mighty, poetry and short story collection called A Fine Collection @fineperiodpress! This collection even comes with “Visual Sounds” that features a few pages of full colour artwork that was inspired by various songs. This is a such a unique publication that has something for everyone: lovers of literature, poetry, visual art and music! It’s published in Vancouver so it was also fun to read work by local writers I’ve come to know and love since moving out here!
—
For anyone new here, The Sunday Read is when fleck features books that we’re reading, loving and inspired by, but we had no hand in designing or publishing.
