I live in New Zealand in an old farm house & an old cottage. I love old things, France, old cats, old gardens & old people - anything with a history.

Kitchenshelfie. A sharp eyed IG friend from New Zealand asked yesterday about this little item perched on egg cups. Ait is a treasured gift which old friend brought a few years ago when he came for dinner. We like talking points and he showed me this item and I had no idea of its precise use. It is an individual butter boat for pouring melted butter on asparagus. It is a rare survival of a charming but easily overlooked piece of Wedgwood creamware. The extensive leaf decoration on the base has been challenging for impressing the maker’s mark but it can be is earned in one of the photos. The lower piece of blue and white beneath it is a clever little egg ring which offers the choice of use for a large or smaller egg. #wedgwood #creamware #kitchenshelfie #dining

Today is the day when I open up the decorations boxes and see all the magic pop out. I love to buy decorations from craft markets and gallery’s, supporting independent makers and shops. I can’t always buy everything l’d like and I’ve had some of these decorations for many years now but the least I can do is to shout out to all of the makers that make my heart smile on this day and every day for at least the next 3 weeks. ❤️
