Next Tuesday is the one year anniversary of kicking off the Prentiss DIY Project! Come celebrate, chill out, & skate the new builds at Prentiss, as well as some pop up ramps from First Glance! We’ll have some pizza & waters for free, & Kenmore Freeze will be open across the street for ice cream. We also have some decks & completes from @need_skateboarding_akron to giveaway, & we’ll be doing polls to see what kinda ramps yall want to skate next year! Last year felt like a family reunion for the Akron skate scene & I’m really excited to see everyone again next week!!! Thanks for all the support so far, can’t wait for yall to skate the DIY! 🛹❤️

Hey Akron! We need your help!
Please watch this until the end...
So, we heard there was not going to be a skate and bmx jam in Akron this year!?! (WHAT?!?)
So, we applied to have an event held at Akron Skatepark August 22nd, 2026. (Last Saturday before kids go back to school in Akron). It got APPROVED! Pending a $1M insurance policy covering the City of Akron for the event.
So, if anybody knows anybody that can provide this coverage, please, Let us know, ASAP.
So, we can continue to have these fun events for the community... for the KIDS!
BMX, Scooters, rollerblades, quad skates and skateboarding!!! If you want to be a part of this event as a sponsor, donor, helper, advocate, please reach out... we can use help!
Let's make this happen, Akron!!!
Thank you.

Thank you everyone who took the time out of their day to pull up to the design meeting! We went over our budget, timeline, & some factors to think about when designing a skatepark. We watched an insanely sick rendering of Prentiss that the homie @benjibotz cooked up, & then had a lil arts & crafts design process to figure out what y’all wanted to see built. Got right down to business & had a great time!

I’m aiming to have one more meeting in the spring before we officially break ground to finalize & announce our design. Keep tapping in to this instagram for updates on that! I appreciate everyone who came out to the meeting or sent me a message about what they wanted to see at Prentiss, & on that note, my DMs are always open to hear ideas! Thanks guys!

We are holding our first Prentiss DIY meeting on December 11th! & also for the first time time ever, we will be opening up the park to bikes & scooters! In this meeting, we will be going over park designs, setting timelines, answering questions, & establishing a community & network to make sure everyone who wants to be involved can be involved & everyone who wants to be in the know is in the know. If you’re planning on just attending the meeting, come as you are, but if you’re planning on riding & have never skated at First Glance, please make sure you’re registered in our system by clicking the link in FG’s bio! Thanks for the patience & support, really excited to finally get things moving!
