It’s never too late to try something new 🏄

@firstwaveproject approached a couple to try free surfing lessons. Though a bit hesitant, they took the chance thinking of their kids, who they hoped would be proud of them for trying. It was the first time in years that Ron had been back in the ocean.

When asked why she agreed to do it, Diane said “Live, and enjoy the opportunities that are presented to you, it’s a gift.” 💙

The new feature documentary follows the 1958-1961 vagabond adventures of Dick Metz, who not only inspired the greatest surf and travel film of all time, The Endless Summer, but also opened the world’s first retail stores dedicated to surfing—@hobiesurfshop—helping shape the sport of modern surfing as we know it.

Birth of the Enldess Summer, the 6x award-winning, Emmy-nominated film, was directed by Richard Yelland (@curtisbirch). Yelland’s upcoming feature @mrspipeline is coming in late 2026.
