Post Op Day 365🦶🏾
I ran today; because I COULD. 🙌🏾
A year ago I was waiting to go to the OR to have surgery on my left foot. Today, I’m fully recovered and running again. It wasn’t an injury. Just 40+ years of wear and tear in a girl who loves heels 👠💁🏾‍♀️

-Non weight bearing on crutches for 5wks
-Boot for 4wks; Hubby lovingly gave me the nickname “WayneHead” 🤣🥾😒

You never appreciate being able to move until you’re told NOT to. I got cleared in March, and was determined to get back to my previous level of activity. I’m not as fast as I was pre surgery (yet) but I’m getting there. I can’t wear my 4” heels anymore with hardware in my foot🥴, but I’m not in kitten heels!

Being patient with myself during recovery was the most important thing.

Shoutout to the countless family and friends that supported us through this❤️!

Thankful to be on the other side🫶🏾

Thankful for this body of mine; so amazed at what it can do!

One thing I know for sure; he loves me. With his whole heart. Daily. Not just when I’m up, but when I’m at my lowest, my least put together, my crankiest; he has proven to be the constant to keep my feet firmly on the ground. His love has not ever wavered; in a time where the world makes it so easy and acceptable to do so.
I know that there is not ANYTHING that he wouldn’t do for me or our children. He protects us fiercely.
After all these years, I’m just still so happy to be here. Like I’m really THIS man’s wife. ☺️😍

🩼 🛴 🩼 🛴

Just a women in her 40s who loves high heels and running 🫣🤷🏾‍♀️🥴. No known injury but my left foot was in bad shape. After ignoring the pain and putting it off for 4 years, I finally had surgery to fix the nonexistent joint space on my left big toe😲. Recovery = 4 weeks non weight bearing in a cast…6 weeks in a walking boot.

Today makes week 2 of 10…cast off in 2 🤞🏾

Thankful to my village for allowing me to get somewhere and literally SET DOWN!!!

It’s hard being less mobile than I’m used to but I’m making the best of it.

Using my recovery to love on my people, let my people love on me, reset, organize, and look FORWARD. Yall gonna be SICCA me this Spring/Summer when I fully get this left leg back! 😝
