1. BUILD BRUTAL, fight-specific conditioning.
Sled work taxes the heart and lungs without the joint impact of running. Pushing and pulling mimics long grappling exchanges where you’re constantly driving, resisting, and re-driving under fatigue.
2. Develop shoulder, upper-back, and GRIP endurance.
Shoulder pulls overload the lats, rear delts, traps, and grip—the exact muscles used for clinching, snap-downs, sprawls, underhooks, and collar ties. This helps prevent your arms from “dying” late in rounds.
3. Increase isometric strength for CONTROL and PRESSURE.
Grappling is full of static holds under movement (pinning, squeezing, dragging). Sled work forces you to maintain tension while the body moves—perfect for building pressure without needing maximal weights.
4. Reduce injury risk while building POWER.
Sleds create constant resistance but no eccentric loading, meaning less muscle damage and joint stress. Fighters can train hard, often, and recover faster—huge during camps or when dealing with shoulder/elbow issues.
