Round 2 at Muller Road Middle School @mrms_mustangs. Can’t help but love the excitement of creating. Today we focused on Trompe L’oeil: Hidden in plain sight. Emphasis on the importance of detail.

What an amazing way to end the week!

Exploring art, history, and maps, Fairfield Middle School’s Advanced Art students took a creative journey through the South Caroliniana Library with Five6 Media Group. Thank you to the students at Fairfield Middle School and the members of Five6 Media Group for visiting us. Students explored how historical primary resources can contribute to scholarly conversations and a wider perspective of historical events, and got to interact with items from Rare Books, Government Documents and maps and more! Beyond engaging with materials, students participated in tours of the South Caroliniana Library, the Horseshoe, Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library, and even stopped to say hello to Richard T. Greener!

Check out today’s adventures. Remember, when in doubt, head to the special collections for a little magic.

Last week I had the honor of working with @five6mg bringing art to students at Muller Middle School. Five6 challenged the students to create abstract expressionist art, allowing them to create freely without constraint.

We had a great time with Muller Rd Middle school. We had a chance to interact and talk to the students. These young minds have so much to say, and it was a blessing to watch their voice and creativity come to life though art. Thanks to @dr_brandonross , @eleberlin , and the participating educators for trusting us with this process! Can’t wait for the next session! Follow @five6mg
