Nie wiem kto wymyślił pierścionki do żakardu, ale ma ciepłe miejsce w moim serduszku.
Kupując ten ładny @fizzy_stitches pomyślałam, że szybko wielokolorowych żakardów nie będę robić. Taaa "hold my druty"....
To teraz na liscie zakupowej są na 4 nitki. A póki co, radzę sobie tak. Jak się nie ma co się lubi....

Auch in diesem Jahr stricke ich wieder im #teamknittelfeld bei der #supersockworldchampionship mit. Es stehen drei Qualifier Muster zur Auswahl und ich habe mich für die #murettessocks von @fleur.des.prairies entschieden.

[ad] Using nice tools makes any task more enjoyable. This vibrant chunky jumper called for brightly coloured tools, so I used a crochet hook and DPNs from the @lykkemakehappy Blush range.

Then I used my fancy silver yarn needle from @fizzy_stitches to close the seam back up.

Could I have done the repair with plain, boring tools? Yes.

Was it more enjoyable because I used fancy ones? Also yes.

Settling in with Sea Glass, working 1x1 colorwork with a little help from my Norwegian knitting thimble. 🧶 It keeps both strands moving smoothly while scraps and leftovers blend into fabric, stitch after stitch.

That’s what I love most about Sea Glass, it turns the most random leftovers into something cohesive and wearable, while keeping the knitting simple and meditative. 🌈✨

Yarn ring, knitting thimble, tension guide, colorwork thingy—whatever you call it, this little gadget is pretty handy. Mine’s in my favorite stone, turquoise, handmade by @fizzy_stitches It keeps my strands flowing smoothly while I knit Sea Glass Cardigan.

This cardigan’s a stashbuster dream: I combined Charlotte DK in Twig by @sugarplumcircus with random fingering-weight yarn scraps. No steeks, no purling colorwork, no weaving in ends—just easy knitting (and pretty addictive, too).

A shout out to all the amazing women I’ve met on my political journey and the ones I’m lucky enough to call lifelong friends.

Women have been there for me in my hardest moments, whether a last minute wine to talk through the latest disappointing heartbreak or innermost feelings (thank you @anchorsandowlfaces) or coming with me to have my pet put to sleep (thank you @pixieface1), it’s always honest, it’s always real, it’s always nurturing and besides in the tragic moments, always fucking hilarious. Especially when we are drunk and doing mad shit.

The women closest to me are my family, my heart and those I trust implicitly. Some of my most wonderful, carefree and meaningful experiences have been spent with them. I’m still grateful to have the same connection with some of my girls from my turbulent early twenties, real friendships stand the test of time.

Only in my adult life was I able to fully open up to women after a hard early life, amongst other things severe bullying, including from those I should have been able to trust the most. Throughout all of that though I always had my dear nan, she meant the absolute world to me. She instilled the fight. When I lost her suddenly it was other women in my life who meaningfully stepped in to try to help.

Other women on the political journey will know the battle we have to fight, largely against men, just to have a voice. The abuse, the misogyny, the threats. All designed to shut us up. My nan as a fiercely intelligent and opinionated Welsh woman certainly wouldn’t have shut up, I won’t either, neither will any of the awesome women on the right side of history who are fighting the good fight.

I’ll never use a disclaimer to make myself more palatable, never stop calling out injustice and I will always, without question, believe women. I’ll also probably always be late as this post proves.

Things will only change for us, in terms of the awful stats, when men act. It’s on ALL men to do that, now more than ever.

I’ve been a bit of a guilty feminist in the past but am rectifying that.
