Come From Away - Summer ‘26 @vareptheatre • One month since we closed our show. I think our director @rickhammerly said it best when he described our show as not having one star, but instead, it had an all-star cast. 16 beautiful, talented, hardworking stars. I can’t think of a harder, more complex show I’ve done or one that was met with such immediate love from our audiences, friends, and community. This cast ya’ll; they have my heart. From the first day, the work and time and dedication everyone put into the show was mind-boggling. I struggled, we all struggled, and these folks lifted each other up time and time again; the whole company did. - Now to be nominated for 12 Richmond theatre awards; just so much Gratitude. Gratitude. Gratitude. - I got to be a part of and tell this story of compassion at a time when this country needs it the most, and at the same time during a hard summer when I needed to keep compassion and grace with me. They all lifted me more than they’ll ever know. Y’all, this experience will stay with me for a long, long time. (Ps: Kudos to @iamcomplexi who I hear aptly alt-titled our show “Go From Nearby”) 💙✈️🌎💛 #VARepComefromAway ✈ #rvatheatre #WelcomeToTheRock #VARep rva

⁣ “You are here at the end of a moment…”⁣ ⁣ It is with the sincerest gratitude and more than a little sadness that I bid farewell to VA Rep’s production of COME FROM AWAY.⁣ ⁣ With so much uncertainty and fear in the world, this show has been a gift; a reminder of hope, compassion, and the very best of humanity. COME FROM AWAY has been a true balm for my soul, and it will be incredibly difficult to let it go. ⁣ ⁣ Endless thanks to the extraordinary cast and swings, who embodied the very essence of “ensemble,” to the dedicated crew, musicians, and stage management team, whose collaboration and unwavering commitment showcased the true meaning of teamwork, and the design team who created this extraordinary production. ⁣ My deepest gratitude to Brandon Kelly, Ellie Kahn, and Abby Bobb. Without your countless hours of dedicated work, @vareptheatre’s journey to Gander would never have left the runway. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you all for your part in helping this remarkable story take flight. It is an experience I will carry with me for many years to come.⁣ ⁣ #gratitudepost #VARepComeFromAway✈️

Just 3 more opportunities to see this beautiful & incredible production of “Come from Away” at @vareptheatre directed by @rickhammerly 💙💛🌎❤️🇨🇦 🎭🎶 So glad @ashleybyrnesmith and I could make it to see both the “You are Here: A Come from Away Story” Documentary in June at the @thebyrdrva and last Sunday’s performance of “Come from Away” @vareptheatre! 💙💛🌎🇨🇦🎭🎶 An incredible cast, @thebrandonkelly staging of intricate movements, motion, and interactions, a wonderfully talented ensemble of musicians led by @elliekahn_ , and visually stunning technical elements with beautiful arrays of light filling the stage with color and landscape watercolor painting backdrops and symbolic imagery, and use of the turn table provide a beautiful and interconnected space for sharing the story of the residents of Gander, Newfoundland and the nearly 7,000 plane people they welcomed on 9/11. 💙💛🌎🇨🇦🎭🎶❤️❤️❤️
