Saw some pretty impressive art last night at the closing of Nowhere ATL — a pop-up brought together by @evidentculture at a property-in-progress.

Click on bio link to see who presented what works and the interactive checklist.

It’s been such a pleasure working with this extraordinary group of Atlanta artists to bring the first NowhereATL to life: Aineki Traverso, Ben Steele, Carter Flachbarth, Daniel Byrd, Dustin Emory, Elisa Dore, Ezekiel Robinson, Gerald Lovell, Harrison Wayne, Isaac Mehki, Jurell Cayetano, Kathryn Kampovsky, Kole Nichols, Marie Munk, Rosa Duffy, Sergio Suarez, Shahnaz Nia, Shawn Campbell and Stephen Shon.

More than 400 guests joined us on opening night. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the artists and this new platform.

NowhereATL will move forward as a nonprofit, creating unique settings where emerging and established Atlanta artists can exhibit and sell their work, connect with collectors and engage with the broader art community.

Join us Wednesday, October 14, from 6–9 pm for a closing viewing (not a party like the opening). 73 Clifton St NE. It is an opportunity for collectors, fellow artists and anyone interested in the work to spend time with the exhibition and talk with the artists before it comes down.

Link in bio for information on the work in the show.

Carter Flachbarth paints the digital age through a distinctly human lens.
@flachbarth

Blending cinematic composition, surreal distortion, and traditional craftsmanship, the Atlanta-based artist transforms the visual overload of contemporary culture into carefully constructed worlds. By embracing restriction, Flachbarth finds new freedom within color, perspective, and narrative, creating paintings that feel at once immediate, uncanny, and deeply considered.

In conversation with Whitewall, the artist reflects on image-making, creative limits, and the enduring power of the human hand.

In conjunction with Hunt Gallery, Hawkins Headquarters is pleased to present ‘951 miles or 1530 kilometers’ at Hunt Gallery in Toronto. The opening reception is Saturday, July 18th, 6 – 8 PM and the exhibition will run through August 22, 2026.

“In recent years, Hawkins Headquarters has focused a significant portion of its curatorial program on presenting Canadian artists to audiences in the American South. This exhibition reverses that trajectory, bringing artists from Atlanta and the broader Southeastern United States to Toronto and extending a dialogue that has developed between the two regions over the years.

Extended conversations between the galleries have made visible a striking set of affinities. Despite the considerable geographic distance, artistic production in Atlanta and the Southeast often shares formal strategies, thematic concerns, and aesthetic sensibilities with work being made in Toronto—parallels that challenge assumptions about fixed regional or national artistic identities and that become clearest when the work is brought into direct dialogue.”

Excited to see some old Toronto friends at the opening. Seeya soon!
