Tie it. Fish it. Repeat. 🎣 Last weekend we teamed up with Fran and Natasha at @canopyflyfishing for a fly tying workshop led by the amazing Lydia at @flannelandflies! We learned to tie 4 flies, then took them to Eleven Mile Canyon to see if they’d catch fish. 🏔️🐟🐠🎏 Such a fun day, and there’s more to come! Stay tuned for future workshops and fly fishing retreats at Arcadia Villa Ranch & Retreat! 🤠 #flytying #flyfishing #coloradoflyfishing #womenflyfishing #retreats

Introducing the Mackenzie Midge! A smaller take on my original Mackenzie fly-tying chest, designed for those who appreciate a more compact workspace without sacrificing craftsmanship. Measuring just 9" × 12" × 6", the Midge brings a new dimension to the Twisted Feather lineup. The very first one is being donated to the Fly Tying Fanatics Fest this Saturday at Orvis Park Meadows. Come on down and check it out! #TwistedFeather #MackenzieMidge #flytying #troutUnlimited

And that’s a wrap on the first annual Fishing and Foliage event! What a fun morning of tying flies and sharing stories. Thank you to the fabulous @flannelsandflies for the instruction and tying supplies. And a big thank you to @arcadiavillaranchandretreat for providing the beautiful space to connect and learn. @canopyflyfishing We’ll be hosting more local Colorado events and…a big smiley congrats to @sarahlei325 who tied her first flies and caught 3 fish(and we don’t talk about size on here 😆).

Women cannot be responsible for changing a culture that men still largely lead. This conversation is bigger than one brand, one post or one woman. My criticism is not directed at the adult content creator Winston chose to partner with. It is not about her sexuality, her work or the choices she makes about how she earns a living. It is about what a legacy outdoor brand chooses to elevate. Women have spent generations proving our value in fly fishing and the outdoors through skill, knowledge, experience, leadership and contribution. When sexuality becomes the attention-getter while expertise becomes secondary, that matters. And women cannot be the only ones expected to challenge it. If you work in this industry — especially if you’re in a position of influence — speak up. Ask better questions. Support the brands that recognize women for their skill and leadership. Hold accountable the ones that move the culture backward. This is not about policing women. It is about asking more from the brands that help shape our sport. Full statement is available on the DUN Outdoors YouTube channel. Ladies, I think it’s time we burn our Winstons. #FlyFishing #WomenInTheOutdoors #WomenWhoFish #FlyFishingCommunity #OutdoorIndustry DUNOutdoors WomenInFishing

Holy smokes you guys CARP SLAM XX!!! Team Mom & Mom-To-Be took third place!!🥳🥉🙌🏻 @jackie_myler @miko_plu and I had a killer start to the day, finding some bass and I nabbed a 32in tank🔥 @frontrangeflycasting joined us as a bonus controller for the chaos in the afternoon, which was a roller coaster of ups and downs with these fish. Mike and Marcus were great controllers, and so happy to have them with the team! 🎣 That 32in fish not only put us on the podium, but was the biggest carp caught by a pro, and biggest by a lady angler! My husband @rnickolas is swimming in @stranahans from these prizes!😂🙌🏻 Great to see old fishy friends and met a few new ones. The ladies came out with @flyfish_with_nat placing 2nd, and DTU president @sammy_vonc taking home smallest carp (heavy on the air quotations haha). @tboner64 got on the board with her first carp EVER and it was a DSP carp!!🥳🙌🏻 Incredible that we raised $110,000 for the Denver South Platte this year! Another record!🥳🎣 Thanks so much to all who encouraged, shared Carp Slam posts, and supported Carp Slam campaigns🙌🏻🫶🏻 I’d like to again especially thank the following for supporting my Carp Slam campaign: @coloradowestslopeflyfishing @jeffmckenna29flyfishing @native_rod_co @girl_gone_fishin @406flyguide @adam.hortenberry @flannelsandflies @artemisia_flies Eric Meza @humblebrands @brittanylaynewilson Thanks so much @denvertroutunlimited @rick_mikesell @urbananglersusa for the invite to join you guys again and kick A$$ for this river!! Unbelievably proud to be a part of this!🤗🎣 thanks for all you do! Thanks again everyone, and we’ll see you out there!🤗✌🏻🎣 #carpslamxx #denvertroutunlimited #dsp #protecttheplatte #goldenghost
