The Green Field Factory (Rangpur, Bangladesh) by @nakshabid_architects is one of four projects vying for the world’s most prestigious award for architecture, the @riba RIBA International Prize 2026.
Green Field reimagines the textile factory as a place of work, wellbeing and community. Inspired by rural Bengali homesteads, the seven-storey building integrates courtyards, water bodies, gardens and deep verandahs to create naturally ventilated workspaces that connect employees with the surrounding landscape.
Designed around principles of natural ventilation and integrating nature into the space through biophilic design, the factory uses greenery, natural light and flowing air to reduce reliance on mechanical systems while creating spaces for rest, interaction and recreation.
By placing the experience and wellbeing of its workforce at the centre of its design, Green Field demonstrates how industrial architecture can strengthen urban regeneration. The winner will be announced on 15 October. View all four shortlisted projects via the website link in our bio.

AD It was great to be at the launch this week of the new museum at Bristol Dockyards, home of the SS Great Britain.

In a big transformation of the exhibition you walk through before stepping on board Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s great ship, community researchers have uncovered the stories of real passengers and crew who travelled on the vessel. It’s a super interesting display and well worth a visit for a summer day out in Bristol.

The museum opens this Saturday, just in time for Bristol Harbour Festival and a day before the 56th anniversary of the ship returning to Bristol for its spectacular restoration after being abandoned in the Falkland Islands.

LONDON CRAFT WEEK 2026

From May 11 to 17, 2026, @londoncraftweek returns—the city festival dedicated to exceptional craftsmanship, now in its 12th edition.

Launched in 2015, it is now one of the most important international events for the craft world: makers from 35 countries, over 150 venues, 14 participating neighborhoods, and more than 71 disciplines, including exhibitions, workshops, talks, live demonstrations, and special openings of normally inaccessible sites, from St. Paul’s Cathedral to the Palace of Westminster.

This year’s theme explores the relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence, reaffirming the value of hands-on craftsmanship not as nostalgia, but as a living and necessary cultural practice.

Key focuses include textiles, glassblowing, and rare or endangered techniques. Highlights include the “Crafted” exhibition at @sothebys, the first festival space by @jw_anderson on Pimlico Road, and the new Building Crafts program, dedicated to craftsmanship in architecture.

Italy is also represented with “Benfatto,” hosted at Casa Italia: 18 brands and 45 works showcasing the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. Furthermore, “Contemporary Perspectives on Italian Ceramics” brings together six Italian artists – Francesca Romana Cicia, Etra Masi, Riccardo Monachesi, Daniela Daz Moretti, Alice Reina and Anna Resmini – whose practices explore ceramics through craftsmanship, design, installation and sculpture.

Fermata: Hong Kong in Venice

Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia

“Fermata: Hong Kong in Venice” delves into the poetic rhythms of everyday life, carving out a serene space and inviting visitors to slow down amidst the hectic flow of life and attentively observe the subtle rhythms that quietly construct our existence.

The exhibition, curated by the Hong Kong Museum of Art @hkmoa, presents site-specific installation works by Kingsley Ng and Angel Hui, both of whom draw deeply from Hong Kong’s cultural context and collective life experiences. Together, they reinterpret the subtle aesthetics and rhythms of daily life through an evocative composition of light, sound and movement.
