#TableCultureProvisions

If you step a little away from Downtown #Petaluma, you’ll encounter this local gem waiting for you. Table Culture Provisions, TCP from now on, is run by #StéphaneSaintLouis and #StevenVargas...They shared a dream of opening their own restaurant and invested their stimulus checks in the stock market. That money eventually helped fund a pop-up during the COVID era. Now, they run this beautiful local gem, introducing creative culinary ideas to locals and random foodie travelers like me.

...

Pairing it with a Chablis was a great choice. #BrianLondon, the sommelier, gave us a detailed explanation of the wine and vineyards, along with many inspiring stories from his personal experiences with the winemakers...

...

...Classics work every time. I was happy to encounter this dish.

...

...They indeed placed the proper emphasis on the main courses, which I really appreciated. Some restaurants start with a gigantic set of eye-catching amuse-bouches but quickly lose momentum, ending with merely decent main courses. TCP, however, put a proper spotlight on its main dishes. The deeper we got into the dinner, the deeper the flavors became as well.

...

...This is also how restaurants can grow: refining themselves over time until everything comes together. Receiving a huge investment and opening with immediate acclaim are not the only paths to a Michelin star. I hope this business continues to thrive, just like the mesmerizing lamp that looked like a moon hanging right above our table. And I hope Stéphane can one day become the first Black chef-owner in California to earn a Michelin star, breaking a barrier that, remarkably, still appears to remain. To the moon!

It was such an incredible weekend, of course that’s no big surprise when you’ve got the dynamic duo of @suzepots57 and @vincemontague making, doing, and sharing with a group of students willing to dive deep into the process of developing a creative voice! We were asked by so many from far away if we could livestream this powerful and exciting workshop, and while we were sad to say no, it was the right decision because this was something that had to be felt as much as seen or heard. But don’t worry, we are already hatching a plan for a weeklong with these two one day! #petaluma #pottery #creativecommunity

FOCUS Gallery

Tread Lightly | Forrest Lesch-Middelton and Beth Schaible
On view through August 29

Beth Schaible’s hand carved illustrations feature panoramas, flora, and weathered barns from her wanderings in the Blue Ridge Mountains and along the Northern California coast. Forrest Lesch-Middelton’s forms are adorned with ornamental motifs from the Seljuk empire, Ottoman ceramic designs, and in the case of Camino, the patchwork pattern of a black and white hide rug from Argentina. Camino’s name is the Spanish word for road, and is meant to evoke connection and hospitality as an antithesis to the current political administration’s penchant for border walls and division.

This is the final week to view Tread Lightly in person. To purchase or see more of Beth and Forrest’s work online, visit the link in our bio.

My heart is full. (Misty mountains. The best bookbinding students ever. Stitching. Black Eyed Susans. Lightning storms. Baby deers. Walks with @eleanorannand and @betsydewitt and Bertram the dog.) Thank you @penlandschool and @penlandgallery for continuing to make this place real life magic in the mountains of North Carolina.

Hi, I’m Diane. Beauty seeker, chateau whisperer, great-space maker. I’ve spent 25+ years adding warmth and character to homes across Southern California, with a little Park City and Paris thrown in. I love the quiet maximalism a few vintage wall plates and gorgeous antiques from France brings.

They’re France-tiques, darlings ;) Très bien !

Shall we design your great space?
