I remember vividly the prayer I prayed before God brought this man into my life. I told God I was done messing around and would follow Him. Even if it meant I would follow alone. I said I think I’d like a husband but maybe I’m too broken. But Jesus, you know, if there is a man out there that you have for me. One that would help me grow closer to you instead of farther away. Then let your will be done.
A few short months later our love story was fully green lit. With beautiful moments of serendipity and excitement and most importantly a shared desire to honor God.
The one who knows me better than I know myself picked the perfect counterpart for me. I’m forever grateful for Lucas and could write a book on how many ways God has used him to bless me.
Many people don’t believe there is one person you’re meant to marry, and for some people that may be true. You might never know if you don’t ask. After all I’ve experienced and all the confirmation I was given I find great contentment in knowing that this wasn’t my own design.
Today I thank Jesus for Lucas (husband ™️), and the blessing of our 5 years of marriage

When I was 17, a buddy of mine took @joshswensenmusic and I to a “house show” at this place in Mankato called the Cherry Pit. There were some bands there like Infinite Me, @weatheredmn, @goodnightgorillas, and this band called @pierretheband. I remember being a young, dumb, high school kid thinking “this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen”. These bands were so talented! And they all played their own original music! And they all had their own unique style, tone, and omnificence to them that captivated me. I’ll never forget that night, but especially Pierre playing for what seemed like over an hour, and @floorbugs ripping a guitar solo and getting so lost in it to where he almost fell over as someone slid a literal seat from a car underneath him…and he just kept going. Alex slamming his head viciously to their groove. And Kevan commanding the beat in such a nonchalant way, and still shredding. Anyways… shout out Pierre. Shouts out Kevan. Their punk/grunge style and Kevan’s drumming influenced me heavily through the years. Still one of the greatest of all time bands to ever come out of MN and I miss their shows dearly. This is Smart - Pierre

To celebrate the release of @megalopolisfilm , here is a project I did with @floorbugs from a few years back using “Metropolis (1927)” as its content, as it was a big influence on “Megalopolis”

Gross Motor All Stars is playing a show today at Pillar Forum. Last show we have on the books for now/might be the last one for a little while. It’s been so much fun/such a pleasure getting to finally play some shows with these 3 after trying to get on stuff for so long.

We’re in such a groove/this one tonight is gonna be really good. Great bands/great vendors, all proceeds from the door going to Nudieland victims, too. Alotta faces I’d like to see show up tonight that still haven’t seen us. Come out and bring your dancing shoes.
