Hello crafty friends!! YES I’m looking at you! 🫵

We are still rocking the 🎨 @sethapter vibe over on the PaperArtsy blog and today you are in for the full reveal of @floss_workshop.art gel printed book. She has explored paints, gel printing, tissue and even sneaks in a new Gwen Lafleur stamp too!

💡 We decided to challenge our bloggers to use Seth Apter products in ways that maybe Seth might not himself, but Floss also is doing the #100dayproject2023 and wanted to create a notebook to track her IG posts ... ‘tracks’ is also a part of this quarter’s theme!

🎯 It’s fun to see people putting their own twist onto a designer’s product line, Floss certainly gives her gel plate a workout for this post!

⭐️ We LOVE how the pages in this notebook are looking, with all those torn tissue layers and the rustic stamping, it’s a lesson in play, play, play!

😍 Look at the ‘head’ book cover, can you believe that is a gel print and you can see all those wonderful muted Seth Apter paint colours are just super yum, plenty of his stamps are scattered throughout too!

this isn’t a deep or insightful post, but I have learned to carry-on and avoid checking bags at all costs…

These pages were inspired by a new technique from @floss_workshop.art and Infusions from @paperartsy. My last carousel slide shows a story and some of the beautiful paper she made in this new technique that can be found on the paper artsy blog…

Try not to think or plan a page and just go with what’s around me on my table and what’s at hand. Experiment with a new technique to try out a new favorite product or an old one. Just experiment.

Are you an experimental crafter?? Have you got some gesso, infusions, a heat tool and some circle stencils ? (of course you have! )

Maybe this post by @floss_workshop.art will tickle your fancy! She is so intuitive in her approach, one experiment leads to another, and lucky us that she took photos and recorded observations along the way!

Sucky paper of various weights, a few bold stencils, a swipe of gesso, sprinkle of infusions, water, bleach, blotting, drying before lifting the stencils...all these things are tested in various combinations.

One thing she particularly liked was the contrast between a dark circle where the infusions soaked into the card, and a lighter circle where the gesso created a resist, the heat tool intensified this effect nicely by creating some pooling at the edges of the stencil pattern.

💜 National #DoodleDay 2022 is officially over 💜

Thank you so much to all the artists, illustrators and celebrities who all took the time to contribute pieces towards this years fundraising auction, this year we received 310 pieces, which is our highest EVER total!

A huge thank you to everybody who bid on an item, and in turn helped raise incredible funds for Epilepsy Action too.

As soon as we have a fundraising total, we will update everybody - and any questions about winning items will be answered in the morning!

Up with our next minimalist challenged blogger of the week, and it is Floss Nicholls aka @floss_workshop.art

Floss tried to craft just with supplies she could use on an aeroplane tray, so no scissors and sewing supplies - yikes!

She created a page for her mini book and some hidden gems too, and along the way had LOTS of pennies/thoughts!
