Last night was one for the books! 🖤🌈🤟🏾

Elevated Access Co. had the pleasure of providing ASL interpreting services for the @alllovebaltimore Masc Meet Up!

As a Black lesbian-owned accessibility company, giving back to our community means everything to us. We believe Black LGBTQ+ spaces deserve to be inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to Deaf and Hard of Hearing community members. Accessibility belongs wherever our community gathers, celebrates, connects, and experiences joy. ✨

Two nights in Philly with @brunomars! 🎶🤟🏾✨
I had the pleasure of interpreting for Bruno Mars’ Romantic Tour in Philadelphia, and what an experience! This was truly one of the best concerts I’ve attended in a while from the production and choreography to the music and energy in the room.

@elevatedaccessco had the opportunity to share our journey with @canvasrebel — and the story behind how Elevated Access Co. came to be. ✨

What started as an idea written on sticky notes around my computer desk has grown into something bigger than I could have imagined: a business centered on accessibility, inclusion, ASL interpreting, and creating more accessible events and experiences.

A mentor once told me: “If you can’t handle DJ sets, you can’t handle festivals.”

DJ sets? Those are the hardest assignments unpredictable drops, layered beats, no lyrics to lean on. But if you can interpret a DJ set, you can interpret any festival stage.

Folks don’t understand the prep work to be on these stages until they get there and siiiiink! 😌! My friend and colleague @myintentionsdidit used to take me to clubs at night. I thought we were just dancing, scoping the scene, maybe hunting for my future husband 😌😉. Next thing I know, he’s got my hands up, interpreting cold; no prep, no song list; just whatever the DJ threw at us.

“You need to know what music is out there,” he said.

He made me learn the Top 100 that year before he’d even recommend me for a job assignment. Those songs? They’ve come in handy more times than I can count.

Surround yourself with friends and colleagues who make you work for the things that matter. That’s the wisdom that moves from your hands straight to someone’s heart. ✨

The month of April was one full of meaningful interactions and curating community!

From walking with our elders at Lake Montebello to co-hosting a Lesbian Visibility Day Kickback to cleaning up our Baltimore communities, our office remains dedicated to affirming every Baltimorean in the systems that shape daily life.
