The last few days have been a lot of fun!

We had first black drum on the fly, first Texas redfish on the fly, running from storms, and lots of been rods. We are def in my favorite part of the year on the Texas Coast.

Why catch and release?

Protecting the fishery for the next generation of coastal anglers.

As a guide on the Texas Middle Coast, catching and releasing our redfish, trout, and black drum ensures these shallow waters stay healthy and productive.
Preservation means more tailing fish on the flats tomorrow.

A visual of the sea life that depends on Turtle Grass. 2 things readily stand out. A speckled trout, mullet, and other aquatic life thriving. But also, the destruction of sea grass leaving prop scars that may take decades to grow back. "Lift, drift, pole, and troll".

Sometimes you need 3 poles to trick a red.

The thing nobody tells you about Turtle Grass. It's not just seagrass.
It serves as a crucial nursery and habitat for marine life and is strictly protected by state regulations to prevent damage from boat props.
Why is this important?
The dense meadows provide shelter for juvenile fish, shrimp, and crabs. It is a primary food source for green sea turtles, manatees, and various waterfowl.

The "grass flats" and pothole areas of Redfish Bay are prime hunting grounds for redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and flounder.
The more you know, the more you care.
