Meet Catherine Check, a member of the British Columbia Coast Chapter of The Ninety-Nines.

In this video, Catherine shares how The Ninety-Nines have supported her aviation journey, the best advice she's received for women pursuing aviation, and one of her favorite memories: attending the 2024 International Conference.

Every pilot's journey is different, but the encouragement, friendships, and opportunities found through The Ninety-Nines continue to make a lasting impact.

What advice would you give someone just beginning their aviation journey? Share it in the comments! 💙

Last night at the Qualicum Beach Council meeting, we had the opportunity to demonstrate what BCGA is all about.
As British Columbia’s largest aviation community, our priority is to promote safe, enjoyable flying, which also ties into supporting aerodromes throughout the province. We are committed to representing our members respectfully and working collaboratively with communities.

Regardless of differing perspectives, people share the same goal: safe, respectful aviation. While there may always be a small number of individuals whose actions do not reflect the broader community, they should not define it.

BCGA will always stand up for aviation within the province, and we were proud to be supporting the local CAT4 airport community, Vancouver Island members, and those who use the airport frequently.

A big thank you to Stephen Wilcox, (COPA Chair) and George Farrington, (COPA Director of Advocacy and External Affairs) for coming out, as well.

We would also like to remind all pilots to fly courteously, review current charts and procedures before every flight, and continue to be good neighbours both in the air and on the ground.

Looking for an easy way to rent a plane? Sealand Flight has got you covered.

Quick bookings, fast check outs, and all the fun!

Today, one of our renters took BAQ over to Long Beach and found the beach landing strip at Vargas- we have qualified instructors to teach you the proper procedures for this, and would love to help you get set up if you’re interested.

A few of our BC Coast 99s members were able to volunteer at the 2026 YVR Elevate Aviation ACE Tour on April 10th!

It was wonderful seeing students learn more about different careers within the industry, and rewarding to have some girls sit up in the flight deck!

Thank you to all who participated!
