I am incredibly honored to be in this issue of @newsfromnativecalifornia as we enter into Native American Heritage Month. @storiesbyjeanne (Jeanne Ferris) did an incredible job of crafting a message that focuses on the main story, reclaiming the history of the first winemakers of Alta California 1779. Introducing the new evidence of the 30 most likely to had been chosen from to plant the first vineyard in 1779 is a special history now celebrated by my people, the Acjachemen Nation at Mission San Juan Capistrano. Today we now get to acknowledge that the first 50 years of wine making in Alta California was made by Native Hands.
