Lagos Arts & Health Festival 2026

Opening Ceremony Highlights

Lagos came alive yesterday at Quintessence Art Gallery, Ikoyi, as we opened the 2026 Lagos Arts & Health Festival with the powerful theme “Lagos As a Body.” The evening inspiring closing remarks from Oyindamola Faithful, Associate Executive Director of the Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship and Leadership Team Member of LAHF2026, who charged the city with a vibrant call: “Lagos, let’s move our bodies.”

Her message invited us to see Lagos not just as a place, but as a living organism one animated by memory, movement, culture, and collective care. The Opening Ceremony set the tone for four transformative days of exhibitions, performances, community activations, hospital engagements, and interdisciplinary dialogues that explore how creativity strengthens the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.

With artists, health practitioners, policymakers, researchers, cultural leaders, arts in health professionals and creatives gathered under one roof, the festival officially began its journey of shaping the future of creative health in Lagos.

Welcome to LAHF2026.

Over a year ago, I was called to partake in an idea with @lashma__ .To train children who have an interest in fine-arts and give them a platform from which they can set off on their journey of creative expression and individual fulfillment all of which resonates strongly with what @foladavidfoundation stands for.

We worked with orphanages across lagos state selecting these children who show a passion and indicate their interest in this project.
A 3 day workshop was carried out which had the support and attendance of the First Lady of Lagos State Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the LASHMA Permanent Secretary @manuella_zamba, my dear brother @iyanya and all staff of @ekosocialhealthalliance @lashma__

This video shows the finale of this beautiful idea and the beginning of new lives for these children and many more to come. It was also a fundraiser for the Eko Social Health Alliance which will be channeled to help the disabled and less privileged in underserved communities with access to healthcare. I am so glad I can use my gifts in such a way and I do not take it for granted. Thank you to the Executive Governor of Lagos State His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the tremendous support to this project and to @sterlingonefoundation also. This is just the beginning.

Thank you
