Hello London! Come celebrate THE LANGUAGE OF TREES with me 🌿tomorrow🌿 Wednesday June 28, 6-8PM. 🥳

Link in bio 💫

This beautiful courtyard is where I joined the New School of the Anthropocene in person in January and met Robert Macfarlane, in real life, finally!

It's a special place and I'm thrilled that we can celebrate here. It would be lovely if you can join us. ☺️🥰

Join artist, activist and newly published author Katie Holten to celebrate the London launch of her new bestselling book, The Language of Trees.

The Language of Trees is a stunning international collaboration that gathers together the world’s most exciting writers, artists, ecologists and activists, to reveal the wonders of the forest and our indelible connection to trees. Created by Katie Holten, the book is a gorgeously illustrated homage filled with prose, poetry and art from over fifty collaborators, including Ursula K. Le Guin, Robert Macfarlane, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Winona La Duke, Zadie Smith, Radiohead, Tacita Dean, Gaia Vince and Amitav Ghosh.

Books will be available for purchase and Katie will be signing copies.

Tree Alphabet posters and bookmarks will accompany each book!

Refreshments will be served.

Hosted in October Gallery's beautiful courtyard, home to the New School of the Anthropocene, this special evening is part of the UK book tour for The Language of Trees by Katie Holten, presented in partnership with Elliott & Thompson. UK book tour supported by Culture Ireland.

#CosyReadingNight x #IndieBookshopWeek prepping
.
hurrah hurrah it’s #CosyReadingNight and not only that it’s in collaboration with #IndieBookshopWeek making it very special indeed! this week i have tried to visit as many independent bookshops as possible to pick up some exciting things for tonight (haul is on its way!). here is where i went:
.
📖Folde, Shaftesbury. a lovely little shop with a focus on nature writing and traditional arts and crafts. it had a beautiful selection of books and the staff member in that day was really friendly. this bookshop has been on my radar for a while and i am so glad i finally visited for the first time this week. a definite recommend from me!!
.
📖Winstone’s Hunting Raven Books, Frome. an award winning independent bookshop, located on the mediaeval Cheap Street in Frome (famous for being the only street in England with a leat running down it). this was a really lovely shop with loads to look at and friendly, happy staff.
.
📖Westbourne Bookshop, Bournemouth. last but certainly not least is my very own local indie. a family owned independent bookshop trading since 1994 in the buzzy urban village where i work. it’s such a cute bookshop that i just love supporting and always enjoy browsing. the staff are incredible (you can see Sian in picture 5) and i always end up chatting to other book loving customers in there too. a fabulous curation of books and they will always order in whatever you need (want!).
.
are you joining in #CosyReadingNight tonight?
