Review of The Crying Killer 🔪
By Jess Lourey

I've read some thrillers, but while people shared how much they enjoyed them, I found that they didn't surprise me much and weren't that...well thrilling.

Thank you to @booksparks for gifting me this book because wow this is a thriller!

🔪PI Tuesday thinks the man who murdered her sister eight years ago has resurfaced, despite his reported death.

🔪New bodies turn up with his signature, and she's the only one who believes he's back.

🔪 She must decide: dig up the buried secret, or become his next victim.

🔪Inspired by a real 1980s Minnesota serial killer.

Thoughts:
I enjoyed the two timelines woven together, giving us some background to make the present make more sense.

The way in which the story comes together is intense, I was never bored or distracted. In fact, I couldn't sleep last night because of nerve pain in my hand, so I just kept reading and finished the book from where I had been at page 27.

The trauma Tuesday experiences from her childhood and the death of her sister demonstrated how PTSD can present in women. Her mental health is so important to the story, bringing much internal discourse, giving us peak into her mind. I cried multiple times, feeling empathy for her all she went through. She is seriously an amazing aunt/mom to Julia.

There are multiple big twists near the end that blew my mind! I don't get surprised often and I really enjoyed being so shocked.

This story just had it all and definitely earned ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!

❓QOTD: Do you enjoy true crime? (My answer is in the comments.)
