Welcome @food_st to 617 Grand Street! Food Street is a fast casual restaurant bringing Pakistani street food to Grand Street. The Pakistani-American fusion strays away from traditional cuisine with a unique spin on both cultures. Owner Danish’s favorite dish? The Jalapeño Beef Burger. Although they’ve only been open three weeks, Danish says that the community response has already exceeded expectations. Repeat customers are already showing up, and he has been enjoying the chance to meet new faces.

Stop in for a quick bite, or head upstairs where there is plenty of room to settle in for the afternoon with a cup of chai. Danish hopes the spot becomes a place where people feel welcome to linger.

Still trying to process what just happened. Having the opportunity to share the stage with a legend like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in front of 8,000 people was already a dream come true, but hearing him shout out “Sardaar Ji” and lead the crowd in “BOLE SO NIHAAL” made it a moment I’ll carry with me forever. 🥹🙏🏽

As a Punjabi Sikh, being able to represent my community on a stage like this is an honor I can’t put into words. To see our culture acknowledged and celebrated in a moment where thousands of people came together through music is something truly special.

Music is a universal language that transcends cultures, religions, and borders. It brings people together in ways words sometimes never could. Different backgrounds, different beliefs, one language: MUSIC 🎶

Forever grateful for the opportunity. A memory for a lifetime. Waheguru Kirpa. 🙏🏽🪯
