Still beaming after live painting earlier this month at @foodforward’s Tomorrow’s Table gala! I started the painting at 2:30pm and completed it by 8:30pm, just in time for the live auction, where I spoke in front of 250+ people!😅 Proceeds from the painting and other auction items directly fund more surplus food recovery around the county (think: individual trees, the Huntington orange groves, leftovers from farmers’ markets etc) and distribute to those in need. Many thanks to @nanhsu, @jessiebrucee, Robin and the entire Food Forward team for the opportunity. Thank you Michael for generously purchasing the painting. 📸 Images by Nick Seth-Smith

Last week amongst everything else we packed into it… we had the pleasure of cooking for @foodforward Tomorrow’s Table fundraiser 💞🍊 With the generous contribution of Pacu from @rivieraseafoodclub / @primetimeseafoodinc & a whole lot of 🌶️ from @weiserfamilyfarms cooked soup for ~250 people (!) I call this soup *Bubble Jade* because it was inspired by our trips to Big Sur, where bubble jade is found. Meant to evoke memories of smoky campfire, mystical rock formations, fennel growing & the ocean breeze. Thanks again to everyone involved in making this batch of soup possible ✨ 📸 photo 1 & 6 by Nick Seth-Smith

✨🍜 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT FOR AN INCREDIBLE CAUSE! 🌱💚 So honored to be part of @foodforward’s Tomorrow’s Table fundraiser, celebrating the legendary @alicelouisewaters — a true culinary icon and pioneer of the farm-to-table movement! 👏❤️ My amazing @wokstarcatering team and I had a blast serving up our signature Miso Butter Udon Noodles with Shiitake Mushrooms to 250+ guests! 🍜🍄 We were thrilled to cook alongside an incredible lineup of talented chefs @realchefdeblee @clemencegourmandise @chefdarayu @emilylaurae @alyssagartenberg @chefmichelle_and_company @seedy______ @alansanz_c @hatchethall all coming together to support Food Forward’s mission of fighting hunger and food waste while nourishing our communities. 💚 One of the biggest highlights of the evening? I donated TWO private dumpling-making classes to the live auction, which together raised OVER $7,000! 🥟🎉🙌 Nothing makes me happier than using my love of food to give back! Huge thanks to @jessiebrucee @nanhsu and the entire team at @foodforward for bringing together chefs, changemakers, and food lovers for such a meaningful evening and a big shoutout to my Wok Star volunteers @annbkoh @lewkcbmom @amy_von_s @amykesselhaut @hanpham142 @feliciaford 👏👏👏 Special thanks to @melissasproduce for providing the luscious shiitake mushrooms and other produce 🫛🧅🥕 Good food.
