Soooo, tell me why…A few days into mass layoffs from my previous job I had asked God…I wanna work on something for US! For the culture. I mean, I was still on a high from the Black Girl Relief Fund anyways so I mean why not!?!

For those who don’t know outside of @foolies and pushing and motivating YOU to bring your goals and dreams to life no matter how “foolish” it seems, I’ve learned to help foster the dreams of others as well! Cause while it’s dope to be a founder and a leader, I’ve learned that being someone who can be a strong second support, a strong behind the scenes innovator, someone who is also championing another’s dreams is JUST as important! And maybe even more significant.

So when I got the call from my brother, “hey man, saw you were back in the market I gotta project for you if you’re interested….” and he connected me with @witherspoonc it was a smooth wrap!

Now I can add to my title, lead designer for the inaugural @viewercon_! This project was so fulfilling to be able to work on. To see the culture. To see an event for the fans. To see my people walking all throughout @njpac taking pictures with the signage, walking around with their badges, seeing all the different screens with ViewerCon all over it was just such a dream come true.

I fell into design on purpose. I always wanted to make things. And create things. And just dream and endlessly dream. And here I am. Mama, I hope you’re proud of me. God, thank you for answering another prayer as well!

Got a whole new set of brothers and sisters now and happy that this kid from the 3-0-5 is helping to charter new territory over in Hollywood East!

If you were there…it was truly an amazing time. If you were not just know that you better be in place come next year because the vision is only going to get bigger and better!

The reason I’m a fighter.

She is the reason for anything you see and have experienced with me.
I hope mostly the good stuff! Anything else that’s on me 🤣🤣🤣 not her. I’m still a work in progress.

But keep going.

If you’re a mom and you follow me, keep going.

If you’re a care taker or that ride or die auntie…keep going.

There’s lessons I learned from 20 years ago that still are with me today!

Happy Mother’s Day and that includes anyone stepping up and in the role holding the fort down!!

We're committed to supporting black-owned small businesses at each of our conferences. A recommendation from @fxravin led us to @sabrinaseymore of @sabrinaseymoreevents, who has been our go-to event planner in Raleigh since year one.

We've also partnered with @foolies to create some incredible merchandise, including T-shirts, affirmation books, pins, and stickers. The demand for the "Hire Black People" shirt is still high - perhaps a "Hire Black Women" version is in order for this year. We appreciate our vendors' commitment to excellence.

I ain’t gotta wait for you to make it to celebrate you!

Shouts out to everyone on a high right now even a few days after watching the Oscars.

A lot of homies on the timeline like, “I gotta get back to it.” “I gotta start writing again!” “I need to start taking stuff seriously!”

And I love the fact that you can watch Coogler, and @michaelbjordan and see highlights from the @proximitymedia team and say, “thats gonna be me one day!” “Imma be working with Coogler and them one day!”

So in advance I’m proud of you. Proud of who you’ll become. I’m rooting for you even on the first post with a few subscribers because once the world finds out how great you are…Issa wrap!

After the @theacademy was over and Ryan Coogler, @addp, @ludwiggoransson, @michaelbjordan and just the Sinners cast and team just bodied the nominations and took home some gold as well I started thinking about how important it is for folks to see this special group.

Big reason is because of Ryan and how he postures himself and I’m sure the @proximitymedia team knows this first hand. One thing Coogler gonna do is celebrate his friends. He’s clapping the loudest. Shooting off I love you hand signs. He’s telling his team to stand. He’s shouting them out in everything. He loves on @zinzerella LOUDLY and celebrates her and all the accomplishments that people have no clue about.

We would see this same with Michael B. Jordan and all the projects he’s on as well. Every time they get a moment they are just showing love. They aren’t afraid of the shine of their colleagues. Even when they don’t secure every chip it only reminds them to go at it again. To get better. Because success is not a competition. They want everyone around them to win.

So, it really only makes sense for us to bring you all the Clap For Your Friends collection! In this mess of a world we are in the only way we will win is holding our circles down. Clapping when they land the new job, get the new car, put the down payment on the house, pay off their student loans. Why? Because why not celebrate? When one of us wins, I am absolutely positive that my win is right around the corner.

So let this tee be a reminder to show up for your friends. Clap loudly for your peoples!! We only going to win because we running together. And once you drop your shoulders and realize that, then it’s only UP from there!

Creatives. Content folks. My fellow Foolies. What it dew? What you working on? What’s new?

Now that the formalities are out the way let’s talk about how you keep doing this one and done game. Why you doing all this work to promote it once?

Foolies is a little over 15 years now and you still hear me talking about this mission because it’s important that I keep going so that I can truly help others. Can’t have yall leaving your blueprints inside of you!! So, it’s the reason that I keep posting and signaling the way that I do!

Every post here is a reminder that your dreams are so extremely important. So hey, I get it. You probably exhausted the energy creating. But maybe spend a little time sharing with the masses that your “thing” is just as important as the creativity that went into it. Nah mean!??! So repost, post it in stories, tell some friends you want them to interact with it. No shame in it at all!

Stop playing the shy game though. It’s not gonna reward all your hard work and effort in the long run!

Time to start working on your book.
You’ve always wanted to do it.
But, you’ve been putting it off for quite some time.

The hack: Just write down your table of contents. That’s it.

@sethgodin said a lot of people have writers block, very few have talking block. Record your thoughts. Annotate it. Get it edited by a real person or a tool. Either way, make it easy.

The goal feels heavy because you’ve made it heavy. It ain’t gotta be.

Make it simple. Make it a game. Rethink that perfection you’ve been chasing. It’s all fake.

But, you can’t keep running from that dream any longer. We need you. Somebody needs you. And prolonging it…nah we can’t have that!

So, take this message and get to work.

Drop it in the group chat. Tag that homie you’ve been pushing to get to it. Sometimes they gotta hear it from another source. And save this for yourself. Watch it and read the caption when the doubt settles in. That’s it.
