POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

To all of those who joined An Evening with Purpose and gave it exactly that. Purpose, connection, and possibility in the name of animal and planetary care. And it was so much more than those physically there, the incredible donations we received, time-wise, attention-wise, sponsor-wise, finance-wise. Thank you for decorating the table and filling our hearts (and ears! @johnirhancockmusic ).

To see everyone’s faces as we shared the stories of our animals and have people gather around something we deeply believe in means more than ‘thank you’ can express. To more times like this. 🤍

I don’t love the spotlight. I don’t particularly enjoy the pressure to perform.

I care about the work.

After eight years of showing up and advocating for working people in this city, I realized something: if we want government to represent different people, different people have to start showing up.

Look around your own city.

Where do the people serving your food, stocking your groceries, caring for your kids and keeping your community running actually live?

If the people who keep your city running can’t afford to live in it, that should tell you something.

Change starts HERE.

Welcome to Episode 1 of Arts & Audiobooks! 🧶🎧

My favorite way to enjoy an audiobook is by listening while doing arts and crafts, so I wanted to make a little series sharing the crafts and art styles I try with my current audiobook listen. I hope you’ll join me in crafting with an audiobook, too! 🥰

I picked up this craft at @fordandelm in Temecula as part of their Art Cafe. I started the craft there and finished it at home. Their store is so beautiful and thoughtfully curated! 💕

I listened to The Unmagical Life of Briar Jones by @lexcanroar, which was a spectacular crafting listen. Casey McQuiston meets The Secret History in The Unmagical Life of Briar Jones, an unmissable dark academia fantasy following former childhood best friends who reunite at magical boarding school after years, only to find themselves enemies on opposite sides of the ugly secrets hidden within the gilded walls. ✨ Thank you so much to @librofm for the free audiobook!

This was my first time trying punch needle, and it was such a fun experience. At first, I was a bit nervous because my stitches kept coming undone (😂), but @theurbanacres shared some excellent videos detailing how to do it. Once I got in the swing of things, it was so relaxing. I highly recommend giving it a shot!

Follow for episode 2! 🫶🏼

July was spent the best way I know how—checking in on talented friends, celebrating the beautiful things they’ve created, and making a few memories in between.

Turns out the best projects are the people.

Happy National Friendship Day. 🤍

My talented friend @geraldmetalworks absolutely nailed it for @lelarose at @thepostmontecito.

That mirror (first picture). Those drawers. 🤍

Gerry is also the maker behind the custom mirrors and candle holders at @fordandelm.

@geraldmetalworks

@janessaleone and @lynseygreive in Janessa’s latest shop with @geraldmetalworks display cabinet in background.

The finished product. 👏

Proof that good design deserves good photography.

@lynseygreive × @dennisroycoronel 🤍

A little fun and games in between all the work.

Some people just have the gift.

@wildlingfleur always gets it right. 🌿

An amazing evening spent with friends, good wine @lostranchwinery good food and wonderful hosts @abodecoffeee

I had a feeling this one would be a hit.

@primallypure’s Tinted Sun Serum is introduced and it keeps flying off our shelves. Bravo, @bethanyjmcdaniel. ☀️🤍

What doesn’t she do?

This incredibly talented local artist makes the holders for the @primallypure lip balm that we can never seem to keep in stock.

Professional shoppers doing their thing at @lasvegasmarket 💃

Alex returned to lead a ceramic workshop making the smoke houses.

My fam. ♥️♥️

Bye July!

Representation doesn’t happen because someone talks about working families.

It happens when working families finally have a seat at the table.

Yesterday’s video wasn’t about asking for sympathy. It was about explaining why I care so deeply about housing.

Mental health. Grief. Physical health. Opportunity. These aren’t excuses. They’re realities that shape people’s lives.

If we want communities with people from different backgrounds and incomes, we need housing that makes that possible.

That’s why I keep showing up.

A custom @leeindustries sectional sofa we did for @revival___interiors

To suit this incredible living space—and make the most of those views—we extended both ends of the sectional to create a longer, more balanced silhouette. Proof that custom upholstery isn’t just about choosing fabric; it’s about creating a piece that fits the way you live and the home it’s made for.

We have normalized economic segregation by design.

Not with signs on doors or words written into law, but by building communities that large portions of the workforce can no longer afford to call home.

It’s Saturday, and I’m looking at ways to make my apartment feel more like home. The first two photos are my actual living room. The second two are inspiration.

None of these ideas are extravagant. They’re simply the kinds of things people do when they believe they’ll be there long enough to call a place home.

Making a rental feel like home isn’t as simple as buying a shelf or hanging a plant. Every improvement comes with the same questions.

Is it worth it?

What if I have to move?

People hear the words affordable housing and often think handout. Government tells us it’s supposed to be a stepping stone. That only works if there’s actually somewhere to step to.

I’ve spent the last nine years advocating for attainable housing in Temecula because I’ve lived this reality.

A home can be an apartment, a duplex, a condo, or a house.

Home is security.

Home is where you heal, raise your children, build memories, and plan for tomorrow.

If there’s a business in a city, there should be a home for every person that business employs.

That’s why I’m running for Temecula City Council.

That’s also why I’m a member of the Forward Party. I believe our communities move forward when we stop asking whether an idea is Republican or Democrat and start asking whether it actually works.

Home should never be a partisan issue.

Home should be within reach for every person who works to make a community thrive.

The full version of this story is on my Facebook page. I’d love to hear what “home” means to you.
