Homemade felt toadstool mushroom moccasins 🍄

I loved making tiny baby booties for Violet but stopped because she was walking and needed real shoes. The other day I thought about it and knew I was dead wrong to stop making them and decided to trace her still tiny feet and sew her some felt slippers with fringes on the side! I finished them with a needle felted mushroom design. She loves them! Now my oldest wants a pair, so I guess I’m back making cute booties (slippers) again.

I cut the pattern for these ones and I’ll have a full tutorial this fall, if people are interested. They are super easy and even my 7 year old helped a bit with the sewing!

*Sourced wool from cruelty free farms or secondhand stores!*

This little corner in our schoolroom is ready for the new month. 🧡 I usually hang our vocabulary words in that empty clip on the bottom, but will add them on Monday. Can’t believe it’s October already!

It’s October 1st and autumn has finally arrived full force around here. Time for cosy sweaters, warm soup and everything cinnamon spice! October is a Favourite Month at our house, so for the first of October we wanted to go heavy with the Halloween vibes 👻 🎃 which meant creating an epic photo treatment to showcase our homemade witches brooms and pumpkins, gourds and squash table!

Today was the first time my husband @waldorfdads went mushroom hunting in Bavaria… and I would say it was a SUCCESS 😱😱😱. We found so many chanterelle mushrooms 😱😱😱.

Ready for Fall🍂🍁

Growing up in Florida, it’s pretty hard to sense any shift in the seasons, and I didn’t realize how much I was missing out until I moved further north. The way the mood, your activities, the food, changes with each season is just so beautiful! Just when I grow weary of days that start to feel the same, the new season brings with it renewed energy and inspiration. My biggest inspiration to live more seasonally and embrace each small shift is my precious girl, who reminds me by her curiosity and bright eyes how much I want to help her discover the magic of this world that God has given to us, and reclaim that childlike wonder for myself.

We’ll be soaking in every little bit of Fall (because it’s the best) with plenty of cozy drinks, chilly nature walks, and seasonal crafts from the lovely Autumn Collection by @thesimplelivingcollective
