Such a special way to honor this chapter working with Sanne of @formae.studios to create this bespoke pregnancy sculpture.

We did everything in the comfort of my own home. She came over with her scanner and computer, set everything up in just a few minutes, and walked me through choosing a pose that felt right.

The actual scan only took about two to three minutes, but what she captured holds this season of my life in such a tangible, beautiful way.

This is my final pregnancy, and there’s something really meaningful about being able to honor it like this. To pause and recognize everything my body has carried, created, and become.

It’s more than a keepsake. It’s a piece of this chapter that I will hold onto forever. 🤍

Excited to share some of the work we’ve been doing to support @formae.studios . They specialize in capturing and preserving the beauty of pregnancy for moms in the Los Angeles area and beyond. We clean up all their scans so that data is sculpture ready and mom is happy.

We’re back with another #EDC Member Spotlight. This week, we’d like to introduce @sanneschimmelpenninck

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 Originally from the Netherlands, Sanne has called Los Angeles home for 3.5 years. She creates bespoke pregnancy statues using 3D photography — a beautiful blend of art, memory and motherhood. She and her family moved for her husband’s job, drawn by California sunshine, the outdoors, and the promise of a big family adventure.

“It took me a while to get used to the size of LA — sometimes you drive an hour just to see friends. But the biggest challenge has been being so far from family and friends.” Despite the distance, Sanne is proud of what her family has achieved: visas, schools, launching businesses, and settling three young kids into a new life. “We managed it all and now truly feel at home.”

Sanne joined the Expat Dinner Club to meet fellow Europeans because, in her words, “it’s wonderful to share experiences with people who have a similar cultural background and understand what it’s like to build a life here.” She’s gained “so many fun and inspiring connections” through our intimate dinners, which “make it so easy to connect and have meaningful conversations.”
