Leeds Corn Exchange, Call Lane, LS1 7BR  @lightnightleeds   Enter a world of movement, light and queer nightlife created by final-year students @nscd_ba3 from Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Working with artists Christopher Matthews and Joseph Mercier @mercier_joseph , the performers respond to Matthews’ installation Field of Dreams, a constellation of rotating disco lights that transforms the space for gathering and dancing. Field of Dreams Remix explores the joy, freedom and collective imagination found within club culture, alongside the grief felt when these vital spaces disappear. Energetic and reflective, the work celebrates the communities built beneath the lights.

In her solo dance performance kösh*, Sofia Greben inhabits the figure of a nomad whose body never settles. She appears as a bodily archive in transition and moves between dance vocabularies from Kazakh folk dance through club cultures to contemporary dance, objects, sounds, and their shifting constellations. kösh invites spectators into a state where bodies themselves become a temporary home.

Action! A truck rumbles past with music blaring. A dancer leaps and stumbles, their body moving forward against forces that refuse to let up. Then suddenly the elements erupt: thunder rolls, wind lashes and snow falls in this immersive theatre experience which transforms an everyday street into a live film set.
This “gloriously inventive” (The Theatre Times) event has already thrilled audiences in Sydney, Santiago and Buenos Aires. Now it’s time for Greenwich Peninsula to play a starring role.

#tldr This is an ode to ATLAS with @christopher_matthews_choreo

On the last day of the program a few questions were posed to us as a group. The first being where did you land?

I’ve been thinking about this one the most because I don’t feel like my feet are quite on the ground yet from the most incredible summer in Vienna at @impulstanz_festival. The new friends I made, the new ways of working I learned, and the sheer amount of love and support I felt in this program are the things I’m going to take with me for the rest of my life (that’s the summary of my answer to the second question posed btw which was what are you going to take with you?).

I’m still working on the third question that pertains more to my next piece but I think it still ties into how I want to work and how I want to move forward in my dancemaking. This summer I learned is that it’s all connected. My life is my dance. It’s seen in every hug, elevator selfie, group photo, and even in the chicken I sketched on @a.k.a.stevie’s cast. And better yet this dance can be full of joy if pause to take it in.

Vienna, Eucharisto! you were a dream. 💜
Sunny time at Impulstanz Festival came to an end and I left with a full heart, a full body, so many memories🌑
Atlas 2026, under the beautiful mentorship of @christopher_matthews_choreo , had the chance to dive deeper into my Micro To Macro practice, to question, explore, create, and learn alongside so many incredible artists from all over this world.

There were lavender ice creams and endless bike rides through Vienna, long days of dancing, conversations, discoveries. 🚲🍦

Thanks to @joseagudodancecompany whom I’ve been learning the past theee years, @alleynedance for the Artistic Mentorship and intensives and @damienjalet & @aimiliosarapoglou who inspired me in so many ways. I and so many other researchers and artists open new doors in body and imagination.
@bearsinthe.park for hosting us and @impulstanz_festival for the organisation.
Huge congrats and appreciation to the dancers and musicians who joined Petrichor, a new choreographic work based on my PhD research on Soil Bacteria and geosmin.

Cheers to everyone for the knowledge, generosity, inspiration, laughter, sweat, questions, movement, and magic.

I am leaving @impulstanz_festival feeling incredibly invigorated by the beautiful experiences and especially working with my second cohort of the Atlas programme. It is a privilege to mentor such gorgeous artist. Engage in practise, critical thinking and expanded ways of choreography. But more importantly we practise care, something the world locally and globally could use. To see care as first response is overwhelming. We took care of each other and our practises. We prioritised joy and actively looked to see joy in the world around us. Bringing joy in to our lives as a political act. I am full and my heart has grown even bigger because of these beautiful humans.

During ATLAS research residency with the choreographic mentorship of @formedview I revisited my embodied archive as a go-go dancer in Kazakhstan. Explored gaze, elevation, and the body as a site of both power and vulnerability, as well as the influence of Western club and pop culture in Central Asia. Working with hair, heels, and shifting levels, I developed material for my piece kösh.

The research project kösh/shimmer in frames of ATLAS Residency Programme was realised with the support of @culturemoveseurope funded by European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
