Looking back on an amazing week at The Hartford Nationals hosted by Move United in Grand Rapids, Michigan!

For those who aren’t familiar, Move United is a championship for athletes with physical, visual, or intellectual disabilities. It was such an honor to compete there, and one of the highlights of the week was getting to meet 2x Paralympian Anastasia Pagonis!

Over the two-day meet, I raced in both long course and short course events, swimming the 200 IM, 200 Free, 100 Free, 100 Breast, 50 Breast, and two relays. Getting to finish the meet with 9 gold medals made the week even more special! 🥇

This past week was about so much more than racing. Meeting so many amazing athletes, making new friends, and watching everyone give it their all was truly inspiring. I’m so grateful for this opportunity, the friendships and memories I made, and everything I got to experience.

2026 Aquathon for All. @foundation_werise

This event wasn’t just about crossing a finish line
it was about confidence, inclusion, and community.

Athletes of all abilities came together to swim, run, and rise alongside one another, proving that there is a place for everyone in sport. From first-time finishers to Paralympians, every story mattered and every effort was celebrated.

So proud to be part of something that continues to open doors, build belief, and inspire the next generation

Our Water Fitness class, partnered with Adaptive Sports & Recreation at Brooks Rehabilitation, never misses a chance to make movement fun. The moment we started donkey kicks, someone made the noise… then another… and suddenly the whole group was a full donkey choir. And the grand finale? Instead of smiling for the camera, everyone gave their best hee‑haw in perfect unison. Strength, balance, and pure joy — that’s our Brooks crew 💙

Our Water Fitness class, partnered with Adaptive Sports & Recreation at Brooks Rehabilitation, brings strength, confidence, and joy to every session. Our adults work on building body control, improving balance, and developing functional strength — all while enjoying the water and staying cool in this Florida heat. Watching this group challenge themselves, support one another, and find real joy in movement makes every class meaningful and inspiring!
